SM Entertainment chosen by industry experts as the most successful entertainment agency of 2013

As the year comes to a close, the experts of the music industry have chosen SM Entertainment as the top entertainment agency of 2013!

35 music insiders including entertainment agency executives, music producers, composers, critics, and PDs participated in the Star News survey entitled, "Most Successful Agency of 2013", and 18 out of 35 experts chose SM Entertainment. YG Entertainment came in 2nd place with six votes. Starship Entertainment and Mystic89 were also noted for their steep rise to success this year.

Popular music critic Seo Jung Min stated, "In SM, SHINee, f(x), EXO, and all of its groups achieved success in different ways... SM showcased their solid system." Composer Jo Myung Soo also couldn't leave out the name that has dominated K-pop this year, EXO, mentioning, "SM maintained their original artists as well as gave birth to EXO who has a massive fandom and popular appeal." Music critic Kang Tae Kyu also stated, "The planning of SHINee and EXO's contents are impressive... Through a hit song, they achieved an extended fandom and remarkable album sales."

Universal Music Korea CEO Yang Bum Jun also praised runner-up YG Entertainment and its artists, "YG has already secured popular appeal and now its artists are free to pursue the music they want to do... G-Dragon has especially grabbed a spot as a superstar incomparable to other artists while Taeyang seems to have secured a clear position as a musician." Happy Tribe Entertainment CEO Jung Hae Ik stated, "YG released various hit songs this year including those of Psy, G-Dragon, and Taeyang", attributing the Psy phenomenon and the power of veteran group Big Bang for the success of the agency this year.

Although not one of the 'Big 3', Starship Entertainment and Mystic89 made a name for themselves this year. SBS PD Bae Sung Woo shared, "Through Starship Entertainment's planning ability and skill, SISTAR and K.Will have risen to the top." JTBC PD Yeo Woon Hyuk stated, "Mystic89 artists are active in variety shows and Kim Ye Rim (Lim Kim) has made a solid debut. Yoon Jong Shin also showcased his unfailing passion for music."

Heechul explains he has to urinate in bathroom stalls to avoid sasaeng fans

On this week's 'Ssul Jeon,' Heechul talked about sasaeng fans, the fans who can go a bit too far at times out of their love for certain celebrities.

Kim Gu Ra said, "Moon Hee Jun once said that a sasaeng fan opened the door and entered while he was taking a bath in his home."

Heechul provided an example from his own life as an idol.  He said, "There were a lot of times when fans came out of nowhere to take pictures while I was urinating at the urinals so now I go inside a toilet stall and lock the door to urinate."

He also said, "I have to angle myself by leaning forward like I'm doing a Michael Jackson dance because they even climb up neighboring toilets to take pictures."

Perpetrators responsible for Davichi's Kang Min Kyung's composite photo receive sentencing

The two perpetrators behind the malicious edited photos of Davichi's Kang Min Kyung received a six-month jail sentence, a two-year suspended sentence, and a requirement of 80-hour community service.

 According to the Seoul Central District Court, the two perpetrators including Mr. Kim (32) had uploaded a composite picture of a woman who looks to be Kang Min Kyung entertaining a man at a bar in just her underwear onto an internet cafe and blog back on March 6 under the title "Kang Min Kyung's Sponsor Picture."

The court stated, "Although Mr. Kim and more didn't make a conclusive remark that the woman in the composite photo is without a doubt Ms. Kang... it was suggested by the content of the post seen by the public that it is Ms. Kang... This can potentially damage the image of Ms. Kang who is currently active as a celebrity so the nature of this crime is severe."

"In order for a celebrity to attain a good image, they make constant effort but in the case of that image being damaged by others' illegal acts, it can't help but to take a severe toll on the celebrity."

In jTBC's "War of Words" on December 12th, they were talking about the fan gifts traditional, and Heechul was asked among the gifts that he has receveid which one was the most memorable, upon this he answered,"As everyone knows I'm not the type that accept fans gifts often".

He then also said,"Because of the sincerity of the fans, so I will receive gifts when it's my birthday. I once had a traffic accident in the past, so a fan sent me a 7-year-old kitten as a gift. Animal as gift is not allowed but because the fan personally gave it to me so it became very precious to me".

The MCs then were surprised when they saw Heechul's cat photo,"This is Russian Blue breed. It's very expensive!"

Krystal thanks fans for watching 'The Heirs'

f(x)'s maknae Krystal updated f(x)'s official website with an adorable selca. 

She mentioned that the final episode of The Heirs broadcast yesterday and she was bit sad to part ways with the cast and crew, she then greeted fans as Lee Bona for the last time and asked fans to support the final episode.

Mir and Shindong to host 'Beatles Code 3D'!

Super Junior Shindong, MBLAQ's Mir, Shin Dong Yup and Soran‘s Ko Young Bae are confirmed to be the new panel of host for the upgraded 'MNET's Beatles Code 3D'.

The four new MCs had their first filming on December 11 with their first guests, 2NE1 and DJ Doc. It'll premiere on December 24 at 11PM KST. Prior to that, a special prologue will air on December 17.

f(x) play basketball on 'Freestyle 2' BTS photoshoot

On December 3, f(x) were announced to be the models for Chinese basketball arcade game 'Freestyle 2'. Along with the announcement is the release of their official promotional photos.

Wearing stylish jerseys, the members have projected their individual charms that would surely appeal to the Chinese market. In regards to that, the BTS clip of their photoshoot has been released as well.
