Japanese tourists undergo plastic surgery to look like KARA

A Korean cosmetic-surgery clinic conducted a survey of Japanese patient visitors for the entire year of 2011 asking, “Who is your favorite Hallyu Star?”  At the end of the year, KARA was the most preferred K-pop star among Japanese visitors.

Director Yoon In Mo of the hospital explained, “The most favored Hallyu star came out to be Park Gyuri, Nicole, Han Seung Yeon, Goo Hara, and Kang Ji Young who are in KARA.  The following favorite stars after KARA were Jang Geun Suk, Bae Yong Jun, Girls’ Generation, Lee Byung Hun, and Jo In Sung.  Through this survey, we were able to find out how the Japanese think about KARA’s image.  The KARA members resemble puppy dogs.  They all have cute and lovely faces.  Some Japanese visitors brought photos of their favorite KARA member and asked to change their nose to look like their favorite KARA member.  They wish to look a little more like their favorite stars, even if it’s through a nose job.”

He continued, “I think KARA’s music brought a good response from the Japanese due to a thorough planning from the start before composing and selecting songs to release to the global and domestic markets.”

Kara’s high popularity among the Japanese was also proven back on November 19th of 2011 when Y-STAR‘s ‘Curious‘ conducted surveys with Japanese tourists to which 62 out of the 100 chose Kara as their favorite K-pop star.

Japanese Sankei Newspaper also ran an analysis about the girls and concluded that KARA’s popularity is due to, “Their attractive face, balanced body line, and fancy dance“.  Sankai also reported that Korean girl groups are gaining popularity due to their distinguishing appearance and interesting group dance compared to current Japanese idols.  This sort of popularity has led KARA to earn 49.3 billion yen(73 billion won) in Japan from CD and DVD sales in 2011 alone.

In related news, KARA will be attending the ‘Golden Disc Awards in Osaka‘ on the 11th.

Jiyeon does not need high heels to make legs look longer

A set of photo's of T-ara member Jiyeon was recently compiled by a netizen and was receiving much attention from viewers.

In the set of pictures, you can see T-ara's Jiyeon showing off her long slender legs and netizens pointed out that she does not need high heels to make her legs look slender. Do you agree?

Jiyeon and Soyeon get's their bare faces tested

T-ara members Jiyeon and Soyeon got their no make up faces gets a "Skin age test" and shows the difference of their image with make up and with no make up.

Recently on the 9th of January broadcast of KBS "Vitamin", T-ara member's Jiyeon and Soyeon underwent a "Skin age test" at a dermatologist and for the test, they removed all their make up and they had a 100% transformation.

You can clearly see the difference on their image on stage and on casual appearances where they dont have make up on. Despite having no make up on, the two girls showed off their clear and young facial skin.

Netizens commented, "Jiyeon looks younger with no make up on", "I think Jiyeon looks cute with no make up and with her glasses", "Soyeon looks like my younger sister". Meanwhile, T-ara are busy promoting their new album "Lovey Dovey".

KARA chosen as one of Japan's Top 100 Favourite Stars

KARA, who made huge melodious waves in Japan last year, has added yet another feat to its list as they chosen as one of Japan's Top 100 Favorite Stars.

On January 3rd broadcast of Japan's Nippon TV "Star Draft", KARA appeared on the top 92nd of the list of Japan’s favorite stars, making them the only Korean idol group to make the list.

The group proved their incredible popularity and became the representative hallyu girl group in Japan. After writing history with all of their chart-topping singles, KARA also claimed its fame through its "sexy butt dance".

During the broadcast, KARA was introduced by saying, "All of their singles have made it to the top five on the Oricon Charts", while showing the group's music video of "Mister".

Meanwhile, KARA recently made their appearance on 62nd NHK Red & White Battle which score 38.4% viewership ratings.

Yesung enjoys freedom in Japan

Super Junior's Yesung recently enjoyed his solo adventures in Japan.

On January 8th, he seemed very happy while traveling on subway without being noticed. He tweeted, "Osaka, how are you! Riding on the subway in Osaka, the joy of being free ~~^^", along with two photos.

In the photos, Yesung is seen wearing a fashionable winter outfit. Wearing a knitted bonnet with a big pair of glasses, he was able to somehow hid his identity. 

Netizens commented, "I wish I’m on that subway too", "Enjoy your free time" and "You still look cute!".

Siwon's grandmother passes away

Super Junior's Choi Siwon recently revealed a tragic news.

On January 8th, Siwon tweeted that his grandmother passed away. He wrote, "Hello beautiful world. I lost my grandmother on my mom’s side. That’s why I’m in Korea now and leaving early in the morning for Osaka" and "Pray for me and my family. Thank you all. Thank you for love and support".

Upon seeing the news, fans flooded him with encouraging messages like, "Please be strong", "I'm so sorry to hear about that" and "Let's pray for Siwon".

Siwon then attached a screencap of the "trending topics" with the hashtag #BeStrongSiwon on the top of the list. He thanked his fans and wrote, "Good night beautiful world. Its going to be okay. Cheers! I dont know what i would do if you weren’t with me E.L.F. Thanks again! good night"

T-ara will not get an 8th member

An official from T-ara’s management, Core Contents Media, spoke with Newsen on the 9th and cleared up the groundless rumors regarding the recruitment of an 8th member for T-ara “We were not aware of anything about selecting an 8th member. We have no reason to pick out a new member”.

There had recently been a controversy about a possible 8th member for T-ara when it was shown on a preview clip for KBSJOY and ETN’s joint production audition program, ‘Global Super Idol’, where it was revealed that the winner would earn the benefit of ‘promoting as T-ara’s 8th member’. However, the company revealed that it was merely groundless information.
