Super Junior’s Kangin gets noticed for his weight loss


Super Junior‘s Kangin has been getting noticed for his slimmer look.
Kangin mentioned that he’s lost a good amount of weight recently. He tweeted, “Starting from the end of last November, I [dedicated myself] to losing weight. I currently weigh 73kg (160lbs), which is 15kg (33lbs) less than I was [at that time],” along with the selca above.
Fans and netizens noticed at the ‘2nd Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards‘ on the 13th that Kangin looks less heavy than he did before. They commented, “Your jawline is more noticeable now”, “You look a lot better”, “I want to know his secret”, and more.

Park Min Young reveals a new photo on her Twitter. 

She wrote on 15th February,"Do you want a proof-shot like this? Minyoung's graduation! Thanks for your wishes". 

She attended the graduation ceremony of Seoul Dongkuk University on 15th February, she is seen posing in her graduation outfit while posing cutely in the photo above.

SHINee’s comeback showcase will stream worldWide



SHINee will be holding their ‘Dream Girl’ comeback showcase at Seoul’s Olympic Handball Arena on February 20th at 8PM (KST). At the showcase, the boys will perform songs from its third studio album for the first time in front of its fans.

The comeback showcase will be broadcast live to fans all over the world through ‘NAVER MUSIC ON AIR’ service, and allows fans to see SHINee perform at the same time as fans in South Korea.

Meanwhile, SHINee will release their third studio album ‘Dream Girl’ on February 19 through iTunes and various music sites. They will then begin their comeback promotions through Mnet ‘M! Countdown’ on February 21st.

SHINee releases teaser PV for “Fire”


SHINee have released their teaser PV for their upcoming Japanese single “Fire“.
The title track for SHINee’s 7th Japanese single has the theme: “the determination of love that blazes up like a moment of flame.” Ishiwatari Junji wrote the lyrics, BACHLOGIC served as track-maker, and it was mixed by D.O.I.. For its coupling track, the single will include the song, “MOON RIVER WALTZ“.
“Fire” will be released in both limited and regular editions on March 13th. The limited edition DVD will contain two video clips for “Fire” as well as its making-of footage.

Onew ranks the SHINee members in terms of looks


SHINee‘s Onew ranked the group’s members in terms of looks.
The boys had a preview event with Melon titled ‘SHINee Music Spoiler‘ for their upcoming album. During the event, Onew was asked, “Who do you think is the best looking in SHINee?” Onew ranked the members from the best to worst looking, putting Key at first, then TaeminJonghyun, Onew himself, and then lastly Minho.
Minho was upset that he ranked last, and Onew explained, “Compared to my face, there’s nothing to criticize about his, so I just wanted to find something.” Key was embarrassed by the ranking, commenting, “I feel like this ranking isn’t really fair.
As always, Onew had something up his sleeve. He said, “Now move 5th place up to 1st place. How does that feel? It’s good, right?” Minho was immediately cheered up by the switch in rankings and gave Onew a high five. Minho laughed and said, “Did my expression change too much? I’m so happy.

SHINee will be holding their comeback showcase to perform songs from their new album for the first time through the internet for their fans all over the world!
SHINee will be performing the title track “Dream Girl” and other tracks from their new album, as well as their past hits. This online showcase will serve as the group’s first comeback stage after the release of their album on the 19th.
Naver Music stated, “The internet broadcast can not only be seen anywhere across the world but the number of people connecting with music content through smart terminals is increasing and there is growing interest in the internet platform which can produce a stable live [broadcast]. K-pop fans all over the world who have been waiting for SHINee’s comeback will have the opportunity to watch their first stage for their new album without any constraints through Naver Music.”

Baek Ji Young to help build a school in Nepal


Baek Ji Young has stepped forward to help children in Nepal.
On the 16th, the singer will be having a solo concert for the first time in 7 years, and thus despite being busy with concert preparations, the singer will be lending a hand having heard of the news that there will be a new school built for children in Nepal.
The singer will be opening a donation booth at her concert so fans who want to participate can do so. In return for their contributions, she will be handing out her CDs and signed t-shirts. The money collected will then be used to help build the school.

SHINee preview 6 of 9 songs from ‘Dream Girl’ through ‘Melon Premiere SHINee Music Spoiler’


SHINee previewed 6 out of 9 songs from their upcoming album ‘Dream Girl.
On the 14th, the boys held their ‘Melon Premiere SHINee Music Spoiler‘. The event ran for about 1 hour, and revealed 6 out of the 9 songs. The tracklist was also revealed, which included the songs “Spoiler“, “Beautiful“, “I Can’t Leave“, and “Hitchhiking“. The boys revealed the song and lyrics for the songs, and even sang “I Can’t Leave” live. The 100 music reviewers present also gave a very warm response to the song.
SHINee also revealed the choreography for the title song “Dream Girl“. As said before, the title song “Dream Girl” is an acid electro funk song, and is produced by Justin Bieber’s producerShin Hyuk and his team Joombas Music Factory. The big point of the dance was their standing mic dance. They got on top of mics, and even twirled them around in sync. The making of music video also showed them jumping on trampolines and using running machines.
The visual art director stated, “The album jacket shows the fantasies of the members. It has the members’ own images and the ideal types they look for. Please break your misconceptions and prior judgement you have on SHINee.
SHINee revealed, “It’s our first full album that we’re releasing in a while, so we worked really hard. Minho and Key worked on the rap, Jonghyun worked on the lyrics, and Taemin worked on the choreography. The members all worked on the vocal parts. We all know each other well, so we were able to complete the best product.
The third album will be split into two versions. The first part will be released physically on the 20th, and will be called ‘Chapter 1. Dream Girl – The Misconceptions of You‘. In April, the 2nd part will be released, called ‘Chapter 2. Dream Girl – The Misconceptions of Me‘. The SHINee members said, “From a production stand point, we wanted to express ‘Misconceptions of you’ in the first chapter and ‘Misconception of me’ in the second chapter. The two albums have a lot of stories about ‘misconceptions’. It’s a very SHINee-esque image, please look forward to our future activities.

Super Junior K.R.Y.’s ‘Promise You’ DVD released in Korea


Subunit Super Junior K.R.Y‘s (Kyuhyun, Ryeowook & Yesung) first Japanese single “Promise You” has finally been released in Korea.
SM Entertainment stated on the 14th, “Super Junior’s single ‘Promise You’, which was released in Japan on January 23rd and reached #1 on the Oricon Daily Single Chart, will be released in two versions, CD and CD+DVD, in Korea.”
The DVD includes the “Promise You” music video as well as behind-the-scenes footage of the MV filming.
Super Junior K.R.Y. wrapped up their ‘Special Winter Concert‘ series in Japan, and their latest single “Promise You” ranked #1 on the Oricon Daily Chart immediately upon its release.

Baek Ji Young shares a story of road rage


Baek Ji Young revealed the extent of her hot temper.
The singer recently participated in a recording for an unnamed TV program and during filming she spoke up about her own experiences of road rage.
Baek Ji Young stated, “Once, my friend’s son was in my car. There was a big curve on the road, and a taxi sped past me and scratched my car in the process. My friend’s son shouted, ‘Auntie, chase that car!’ I lost my temper, sped up, and chased after the taxi.
Joo Young Hoon, who was also at the recording, joked, “Was it perhaps Kim Chang Ryul in the car?” causing the audience to laugh.
On the same show, Baek Ji Young revealed that her high school graduation photo made her the butt of many internet jokes.

KARA’s Seungyeon and Jiyoung, and Lee Min Ki renew their endorsement deal with ‘Unionbay’


KARA‘s SeungyeonJiyoung and actor Lee Min Ki have been chosen as the endorsement models for casual clothing brand ‘Unionbay‘ for the second consecutive year!
The idol stars and actor teamed up for the brand last year and captivated fans with their chemistry leading to their contract renewal. A new pictorial featuring the three celebrities was recently released, displaying just how comfortable they have are with each other as they hold hands and give each other back hugs without any awkwardness.
A representative revealed, “For this photo shoot, Lee Min Ki lightened up the atmosphere on set with his perfect poses as a professional model. Seungyeon and Jiyoung each showed their cute and lovable charms to compliment the style of the brand. We asked Lee Min Ki to do a special pose especially for Jiyoung who recently became an adult so he gave her a back hug without hesitation and brought jealousy among the female staff on set.”

Donghae reveals Kangin has been doing a lot of community service


Donghae revealed what Kangin has been up to.
At the ’2nd Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards’, Super Junior won an album of the year award with ‘Sexy, Free & Single‘. While they were sitting in the audience, MC Chu Young Hoon went around interviewing the artists. Donghae accepted the mic from the MC and revealed, “Kangin has been doing a lot of community service, and he’s adapting well (to life after the military)“.
Kangin had been under fire for various things before he decided to enlist. Donghae had just revealed that he had been working hard even after his enlistment to let the public know that Kangin would not make such mistakes again. Kangin also revealed, “Even though Super Junior isn’t actively promoting an album at the moment, I think there’s a good opportunity I can see everyone again personally,” hinting that he may participate in solo activities in the near future.

2PM’s ‘Legend of 2PM’ ranks #1 on the Oricon Charts


2PM‘s 2nd Japanese album, ‘Legend of 2PM‘ has ranked #1 on the Oricon Charts!
The album ranked #1 on the Album Daily Chart by moving 29,454 units. It contains 13 tracks in all with 9 brand new songs and 4 of their previously released singles including “Masquerade“, “Beautiful“, “If You are Here“, and “Forever“.
2PM had a very successful 2012 in Japan, setting a new record at Tower Records for singles salesand winning the Grand Prize for Tower Records Japan’s ‘K-POP LOVERS! AWARDS 2012′. 2PM will also hold their own concert at the famous Tokyo Dome for two days on April 20th and 21st.

Super Junior to kick off 'Super Show 5' in March


 
Super Junior will be going global again with a world tour!

In March, Super Junior will kick off their ‘Super Show 5’ in South Korea and move on to China, Japan, South America, Europe and other Asian countries. The first round of concerts will take place in Seoul on March 23 and 24.

In its four previous runs, ‘Super Show’ has toured across Asia with last year being their 1st World tour. The tour has entertained more than 900,000 fans worldwide since 2008, proving Super Junior’s global influence.

Tickets for Seoul concert will go on sale via G-market on February 27. Overseas fans will be able to buy a global fan tour through SM C&C on February 18.

2PM's 'Legend of 2PM' tops Oricon Chart


 
2PM has scored success on the daily chart of Japan’s Oricon Chart!

On February 14, 2PM’s new album ‘Legend of 2PM’ topped the Oricon Daily Album chart immediately after its release with 29,454 units sold. The album contains 13 tracks including 9 brand new songs and 4 of their previously released singles including “Masquerade”, “Beautiful”, “If You are Here” and “Forever”.

Meanwhile, 2PM has a Tokyo Concert ahead on February 14th, 19th, and 20th and further continues the ARENA TOUR in Sapporo from 23rd to 24th.

f(x) to perform at the '2013 SXSW Festival' in Texas

 

 Girl group f(x) is heading to one of the biggest American music festivals!

South by Southwest’s official website announced that f(x) will be performing in Austin, Texas for the upcoming 2013 SXSW music festival. A full profile and article of the group has been also revealed in the website to further introduce the group to western fans.

SXSW is an annual music conference and festival that takes place in Texas, gathering music and film lovers from all across the country. The music event of the festival will take place on March 12 to 17, with f(x) being the representative K-pop artist in the lineup.

SHInee releases teaser for 'SHINee Music Spoiler'

 

The boys of SHINee will be holding a special event ‘SHINee Music Spoiler’ to celebrate the release of their much-awaited third studio album. A teaser video has been revealed, giving fans a sneak peek to the event.

SHINee will hold premiere event for the album release by teaming up with MelOn. The event will be held on the 14th in Seoul at the Olympus Hall at 5PM KST. It will consist of the group talking about the production process as well as letting about 100 fans hear songs contained on the album.

TVXQ's "Catch Me If You Wanna" certified gold in Japan

 

 TVXQ’s latest single “Catch Me -If you wanna-” has officially been certified gold in Japan!

According to the latest figures from the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ), TVXQ’s “Catch Me -If you wanna-”, which was released on January 16th, was certified gold for selling over 100,000 copies, earning gold certifications.

In addition, the same single is very meaningful for TVXQ as marks the duo’s 12th #1 single, making them the
first foreign artist to achieve twelve #1 single albums on the Oricon weekly singles chart.

SHINee's passport photos revealed

 

 
SHINee’s passport photos were revealed on the recent episode of MBC Music’s ‘SHINee’s One Fine Day’.

On the February 12 broadcast, ‘SHINee’s One Fine Day’ showed the members revealing their passport before heading off to different locations.

Onew showed his passport photo of him looking natural, while Jonghyun sported spiky hair and a confident expression. He said, “It’s when my hair was totally short.” Minho, on the other hand, drew attention with his long hair and serious expression.

MV for Super Junior Yesung's OST single for 'Wind Blows in Winter' revealed

 

 Earlier today, Super Junior’s Yesung released his latest OST single “Gray Paper” for the SBS new drama series, ‘Wind Blows in Winter’. The music video for the track has now been unveiled, featuring highlights from the drama itself.

As reported earlier, Kangta has transformed into OST musical director for ‘Wind Blows in Winter’. He has teamed up with labelmate and Super Junior member Yesung, who recorded a number of different OSTs in the past.

The song will be used as the main theme song of Oh Soo (Cho In Sung) and Oh Young (Song Hye Gyo), and it is a great pop ballad number that highlights Yesung’s soft vocals.

Song Jihyo challenges 223-meter bungee jump


 

"Running Man" Song Jihyo jumped from a 223-meter-high tower in Macau recently has become a hot topic.

On February 10th, SBS's "Running Man" showed the preview of Macau-Vietnam special episode, and there was a scene when Song Jihyo went bungee jump at the top of a tower in Macau. Even the tower is 223-meter-high, but she wasn't afraid at all, instead she even smiled while jumping from the tower, which really surprised the other members, they even said,"This is crazy!" to her.

This episode will be broadcasted on February 17th, Lee Dong Wook and Han Hye Jin were the guests for this special episode.

Yesung sings Kangta-produced single for "Wind Blows in Winter" OST


 Singer Kangta has transformed into OST musical director for the SBS new drama series, ‘Wind Blows in Winter’.

On February 13th, Kangta released his first OST single, teaming up with labelmate and Super Junior member Yesung, who recorded a number of different OSTs in the past. The OSTs will include a number of great songs, including songs that Kangta wrote himself.

The song will be used as the main theme song of Oh Soo (Cho In Sung) and Oh Young (Song Hye Gyo), and it is a great pop ballad number that highlights Yesung’s soft vocals.

BoA releases short version MV for Japanese "Only One"


Singer BoA will be returning to Japan with a new Japanese single on February 27th. A short version music video for the title song “Only One” has been uploaded online, giving fans a taste of the Japanese version of her recent Korean single.

Also titled ‘Only One’, the upcoming Japanese single will include the Japanese versions of her songs “Only One” and also “The Shadow”, which were originally released in Korea this past July. Both songs were pieces written and composed by BoA.
