KARA’s Nicole pouts for the camera
KARA‘s Nicole recently uploaded a photo via her Twitter page and wrote, “Good afternoon everyone. The weather is nice today“.
In the photo, Nicole wears a casual navy cap and a long-sleeved jacket over a pair of trendy denim jeans. She posed with her hands in her pockets, and pouts her lips slightly towards the camera.
Her photo garnered much attention as the singer had her back to the camera, which showed off her slim figure.
Netizens who saw the photo commented, “Nicole’s priceless ‘aegyo’“, “Her head looks disproportionate to the rest of her body“, “She’s gotten so pretty“.
In related news, KARA concluded their promotions for “STEP” in Korea, and are currently in Japan actively promoting their “Winter Magic” single.
Netizens criticize MBC’s ‘Radio Star’: “Just not the same”
MBC‘s ‘Golden Fishery‘ aired their reformatted 75-minute ‘Radio Star‘ episode on October 19th. It was the first time that ‘Radio Star’ was the main segment of the entire show, and netizens had a lot to say after watching the episode that guest-featured girl group KARA.
Some remarked that the show was “entertaining“, but others argued that it “just wasn’t the same“, and that it “dragged on“.
Commenting on the new ‘Radio Star’, PD Park Jung Kyu remarked, “The episode with KARA was filmed long before we made the decision to close the ‘Knee-Drop Guru‘ corner. Although it’s been reformatted to a 75-minute long program, nothing is different. Before, we edited the corner so that it was comprised of two 20-minute segments; however, we decided to develop it to a full 75-minute independent program after ‘Knee-Drop Guru’ came to a close. It couldn’t be helped that the discussion topics became a little stretched out with the longer duration.”
“A brand new ‘Radio Star’ will broadcast starting next week. It will be a lot like the old ‘Radio Star’ with some new content, and will be somewhat divided into two different segments. We just finished shooting the new ‘Radio Star’, and although there may be some bumps in the road until things get a little more settled, the show will not lose its original appeal. Please look forward to a new and improved ‘Radio Star’,” he continued.
PD Park also commented on Super Junior‘s Kyuhyun as an MC. “The KARA episode was his first recording, and I’m sure he was nervous, as he doesn’t have a lot of experience on variety shows. But he began to relax a bit starting from the shoot for the second episode. He participates very easily in conversations and even makes a few good jokes. I hope everyone will look forward to how much he will evolve on the show as an MC.”
Hyomin clarifies accusations about T-ara’s “unprofessional” behavior
On October 20th, T-ara‘s Hyomin clarified the accusations about T-ara’s “unprofessional” on-stage behavior by submitting three pictures for evidence.
An online community post created a stir a few days back, as a netizen complained, “T-ara, you really disappointed me. They came to the festival to play around and laugh on stage while lip-syncing. They aren’t professional at all”.
The post was referring to a snapshot of their performance for “”Why Are You Being Like This“.
Hyomin defended T-ara by tweeting, “[That snapshot] is from the original choreography, in which we had to act like we were talking… we wanted to create a fun environment by laughing and acting like we were having fun.. I think there was a misunderstanding“.
She continued to upload pictures on Twitter to prove that it was indeed part of their original choreography to act like they were doing their own thing on stage. “There were a lot of people who were wondering what kind of choreography that was. It’s this choreography!”, she said, putting accusations of “unprofessionalism” to bed.
T-ara’s Hyomin expresses her thoughts on controversy stemming from comments by Mose
T-ara‘s Hyomin expressed her thoughts on singer Mose‘s recent exposure of T-ara’s lack of manners.
Hyomin wrote on her Twitter, “I know that between people, the act of greeting each other is very important. I work hard not to be perceived as having poor manners. Truthfully, I don’t want to blame that moment but it was not on purpose so I felt a bit upset. However, even if I were to have done that purposely, I learned that each person would perceive the incident differently. This recent event made me look back at myself and realize that I needed to work harder. I have thought about it over and over again before I posted this. I am deeply sorry for your disappointment. Thank you for reading.”
T-ara was caught in this controversy for diplaying poor stage manners during their performance. After this was revealed, singer Mose tweeted, “I knew this would happen. They’re known for not greeting people properly.” Mose later apologized but his comments had caused the original issue to become bigger.
T-ara’s Hyomin likes Tony An’s legs?
T-ara‘s Hyomin recently revealed on ‘One Night’s TV Entertainment‘ that the secret to her beautiful leg lines was in her high heels.
The program had a segment called, “The rising star with the best legs is…?”, which sought out celebrities’ secrets on achieving great legs. G.NA said, “I loosen my leg muscles, and stretch a lot.”
Meanwhile, Hyomin revealed, “To say that I do anything special would be a lie, but I try my best in my own way. The secret to beautiful legs is in high heels. We plan for the stress our legs feel after performing on stage with heels on. The members will massage each others’ legs.”
Hyomin also revealed that admires the legs of Tony An the most. She stated, “I recently saw him on TV, and his legs were really nice. They were so smooth-looking that it surprised me.”

T-ara's notice about Japanese activities, "will be lessened"!
T-ara's Japanese debut song, "Bo Peep Bo Peep" debuted at #1 on the Oricon weekly charts on it's first week of release. After charting in the top 10 for three consecutive weeks, on October 18th, T-ara have sold a total of 65,818 copies. They have the high possibility of being able to sell over 100,000 copies.
The follow-up single will be the Japanese version of "yayaya", which was chosen by Japanese fans instead of their other song "Roly-Poly". "We do not have plans to promote 'Roly-Poly' in Japan," their agency said.
T-ara's hit songs "Roly-Poly" and "Bo Peep Bo Peep" are both by the composer Shinsadong Tiger, but they have two distinct concepts with different costumes and performance styles. They are choosing concepts rather than songs that will fit the Japanese market and fan's interest best.
T-ara's agency Core Contents Media recently said, "We do not plan to have activities for 'Roly-Poly' in Japan, but release the Korean version as a b-side. We don't think it'll be as big of a hit."
On the reasoning that their label selected "yayaya" as a follow-up, they said, "T-ara's Japanese record label made a strategical decision, and was very analytical about choosing it."
When they release "yayaya", it'll be at the same time as Namie Amuro and KAT-TUN release new songs. "T-ara has their own style and colors," they said, not being worried about the overlapping releases and activities but noting that T-ara will have a lesser amount of activities.
Meanwhile, T-ara will prepare for busy schedules by releasing their new songs "Cry Cry" and "lovey-dovey" in Korea in early November, and follow with their Japanese single album on November 30th in Japan.
