[News] Korean Jumping will have a "different personality" from its Japanese counterpart

KARA, preparing for co-promotion in Japan and Korea, has revealed their new track, "Jumping." The promotion for Jumping will take place simultaneously in Japan and Korea.

In Japan, Jumping is included in KARA's second Japanese single, to be released on the 10th, and first original album, to be released on the 24th. In Korea, Jumping is included in KARA's 4th mini album, scheduled to drop on the 17th.

KARA will show two different personalities in the two versions of the song, and fans are anticipating.

On the 3rd and the 4th, KARA revealed the teaser pictures for all the members, officially initiating their Korean comeback. The style of "Jumping" utilizes monochromic geometric patterns, showing KARA's mature image.

DSP Entertainment stated, "KARA's image exudes cool and urban chic, with a tinge of modernness. KARA is able to show their individual mature charm with this image."

The image of "Jumping" revealed in Japan is vastly different. Whereas the Korean image is more cool, the Japanese image emphasizes more on the style of contemporary women.

KARA will have different promotional activities in Korea and Japan, which are still being planned. The Japanese Jumping PV is more focused on the choreography whereas the Korean MV puts emphasis on the storyline, and fans have been eagerly anticipating Han Seungyeon's crying scene.

Even though KARA has merely started their activities in Japan less than three months ago, they have received numerous invitations from local TV shows, but they have been unable to attend the majority of them.

KARA has been absent from the Korean entertainment scene for a long period of time, and fans are anxiously awaiting for their comeback activities.

[News] The YouTube Edition Of “Mischevious Kiss” Has Over 520,000 Views

Group Eight(the drama’s production company) has made their first YouTube hit!
The company states:

“The numerous hits and favorable reviews from fans for the drama shows that Korean content can compete in the global market”

The drama which had low ratings on television is now a big success in YouTube’s entertainment category. Fans of “Mischievous Kiss” in Africa, Asia, USA, Europe, and every other corner of the world submitted 3,400 comments for the very first episode! This is the most comments any video in the entertainment category has ever received.

The special edition of the drama is now up to episode 3.

My only complaint about episode one was the lack of characters. I wanted to see all of the main cast return for the debut episode. However, we still have quite a few more episodes to go….maybe my favorite castmates will join Seung-jo and Ha-ni soon.

[News] KARA BEST 2007-2010 Album Sells 100k Copies

KARA stands out amongst all the other Korean artists advancing into Japan due to their all-Korean album's ability to break the 100k barrier in sales.

On November 3rd, KARA's Japanese agency, Universal Music Japan's associated officials revealed that KARA's Korean greatest hits album, released at the end of September, has surpassed 100,000 copies in sales. The album sale from Oricon totals to 90k copies, but the Oricon Chart does not reflect the total sale of the album. The Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ for short) has certified this album as having surpassed 100k in sales, making KARA the first Korean group since the '90 to release an all-Korean album that is able break the 100k copies barrier.

Because this album consists of 100% Korean songs, it is surprising that it is able to garner such high sales, showing KARA's high popularity in Japan. Because of the great performance of this album, expectations for KARA's second Japanese single, "Jumping," and first original album, "Girls Talk," to be released on November 11 and November 24, respectively, are high.
