T-ara discusses their Lunar New Year plans + thanks fans for their support
With the Lunar New Year coming up this weekend, the members of T-ara sat down with Star News to discuss their holiday plans.
Dressed in colorful hanboks, the girls shared a sweet New Year’s greeting with their fans. “Our schedule for this Lunar New Year is jam-packed, and we are hard at work in our promotions, so please show us a lot of love… We hope you will eat delicious food with your family and friends, and spend a great time watching T-ara on TV during the Lunar New Year holiday.”
Having worked tirelessly on music, drama, advertisements, and musicals for the last half of 2011, T-ara was asked if they would get a break this Lunar New Year. They responded, “There is no break.”
The girls revealed that after their debut, they haven’t had many opportunities to spend time with their families during the holiday.
Eunjung reminisced, “I remember during the holiday break once, I was at the jjimjilbang (a sauna facility) with my family when I had to leave all of a sudden because I was informed I had something scheduled…”
Brightening, she said, “This holiday brings us to the year of the dragon, so it feels different. Everyone, have a Happy New Year, and to all those 88′ers born in the year of the dragon, keep your energy up.”
Hwayoung also shared a family memory, saying, “Although I have a twin, I’m the younger one so we always received different amounts of New Year money… After performing the traditional bow to the elders, I would sneak a side glance to count Hyoyoung unni’s money, and then proceed to shoot her puppy eyes to convince her to split the money with me.”
As the leader, Soyeon shared her reflections about T-ara’s growth. “This year, I have become the 4th leader… T-ara’s songs have received a lot of love, and since we are off to a new start with so much good news, I’m very happy.”
When asked how they planned to spend the holiday, the members responded cheerfully, “We are going to make Korean pancakes and rice cake soup with our members and our agency family… Hyomin is really good at cooking, and Boram and Jiyeon are good at grilling meat.”
Having brought out hit after hit starting with “Roly Poly” followed by “Cry Cry” and “We Were in Love”, the girls have continued their streak in 2012 with “Lovey Dovey” by ranking #1 on charts and music programs.
The girls did not forget to thank the fans for their continuous love and support which helped the girls achieve all that they have so far.
Soyeon stated, “I think this is the most we have suffered since our debut days. Currently, our schedule is packed until April. While we have been running nonstop, every member has gotten sick, but every word from our fans energizes us [so much].”
She continued with a smile, “We wanted to greet our fans quickly with great songs. We were worried that fans might get tired or sick of our songs, but luckily, our songs were great, and we are grateful that the fans have received them with warm hearts.”
As the interview came to a close, the members stated, “As soon as ‘Lovey Dovey’ promotions end, we’ll be going to Japan again to work hard to spread K-pop… We will all try our best to show you our continuous growth, so please look forward it.”

Co-Ed guest performs with T-ara on ‘Music Core’
There’s no doubt that T-ara‘s latest hit “Lovey Dovey” has been attracting the likes of many, and even led to some trophies on several music programs.
The girls continued to shuffle their way to Music Core‘s, as they put on another performance of “Lovey Dovey” on January 21st. This time, however, there was a short but sweet introduction from their fellow labelmates, Co-Ed School!

The Lunar New Year is almost here and a greeting from Super Junior's Heechul was posted on his Twitter account.
On January 20th, another photo was uploaded by SJ's Heechul. The fans were happy to see the picture because Heechul snapped a photo with someone who is also special and that someone is none other than Super Junior's leader Leeteuk.

T-ara to open an official fanclub!
After working in the entertainment industry for years, T-ara has announced that they’ll finally be opening their very own fan club!
The reason why the girls have been lacking a fanclub up to this point is because of their agency’s CEO, Kim Kwang Soo. For the past 30 years, Kim Kwang Soo has never established a fan club for any of his artists. This was no exception for T-ara, who have even begged for one several times, saying, “Our wish is to make an official fan club“.
But Kim Kwang Soo’s vigilant stance finally cracked after he watched their undying commitment to succeed, as evidenced by T-ara’s “Lovey-Dovey” earning numerous #1′s on music sites and programs.
On January 21st, Kim Kwang Soo spoke with Star News and shared, “I still believe that a popular artist should not be limited to a specific group of fans, but rather, receive love from the masses. The members of T-ara have always asked to create a fan club whenever there was an opportunity. I know that T-ara elt lonely while other artists received the support from their individual fan clubs. However, I did not create one because I felt that T-ara needed to become a stronger group who attracts the interest of the people.”
He also added, “After ‘Roly-Poly‘, ‘Cry Cry‘ and ‘Lovey-Dovey‘, I feel like T-ara has officially become a popular girl group. That’s why I decided to discontinue my 30-year tradition and make a fan club for them.”
Kim Kwang Soo concluded, “Starting from this moment, we will begin to form a large fan club. It will be completed around summer. The girls still don’t know about this. It will be a good Lunar New Year gift for them“.
Japanese netizens pick KARA’s “Winter Magic” as #1 song to play for their lover
Recently, a Japanese online poll surveyed netizens on which song they would like to play for their romantic partner. Standing tall amidst a strong pool of J-Pop artists was girl group KARA, whose pop number “Winter Magic” grabbed the #1 spot.
“Winter Magic” was released back in October as their 5th Japanese single. It’s described as a mid-tempo pop song with lyrics about sending your deepest feelings to your most loved ones.
According to Recochoku, the site that hosted the online survey, “Winter Love” managed to capture listeners’ hearts as it “describes the feelings of being in love perfectly”. It also contains “cute but meaningful lyrics that everyone who’s been in love could understand“.
Meanwhile, KARA is planning to hold their first ever Japanese tour called “KARASIA” in April.
T-ara members to reveal their bare faces for the camera once again
The T-ara members who are busy promoting on stage, acting in dramas, as well making variety program appearances will be revealing their bare faces for SBS E! TV program, ‘T-ara’s Flower Boys‘.
The girls have been extremely busy promoting both in Korea and overseas, and footage of the members practicing in Japan will be revealed on the upcoming 5th episode.
On the episode, the members playfully joke that they should see who is the best looking when each of them remove all of their makeup. They did just that, and T-ara’s down-to-earth and sincere personalities really had a chance to shine.
The girls’ natural beauty radiated throughout their interview, and member Soyeon shared her unique tips on how to manage hair, while Jiyeon was comfortable in front of the camera with her makeup-less face and un-styled hair.
Boram showcased her undying love for snacks, and the girls as a whole revealed their unique way of relieving nervousness before stepping on stage.
The episode airs on January 21st at 11:00PM KST.
Celebrities offer their most sincere prayers for 2PM’s Junsu & his father
The entertainment industry was met with some heartbreaking news right before the major Korean holiday of Lunar New Year.
The father of 2PM member Junsu had suddenly passed away.
2PM’s agency JYP Entertainment reported on the 20th that his father passed away after suffering a heart attack on the 19th, his father was 59.
Although Junsu rushed to be by his side as soon as he heard the news, he could not make it in time to spend a few last moments with his father.
His father’s sudden passing came less than a week after Junsu’s 24th birthday which was on the 15th, and the fans were heart broken for the singer.
His fellow celebrities took a moment to offer their comfort and prayers through Twitter.
Taecyeon, MBLAQ‘s G.O. & Seungho, 2AM‘s Seulong & Jo Kwon, After School‘s Kahi &Narsha, Na Yoon Kwon, and many more asked fans to pray for Junsu, and hoped that Junsu would be able to be strong during these difficult times.
Singer Se7en and Nichkhun who are currently out of the country expressed their regret for being unable to be with him, and CEO J.Y. Park tweeted, “As we grow we realize that we need the wisdom to accept things we don’t understand. Be strong Junsu…”
Actress Kim Kyuri also expressed her condolences by saying, “Be strong, Junsu. I don’t know what to say. Be strong. I’ll be there as soon as I finish my shoot.”
Junsu’s fans who were saddened by the loss wrote, “Junsu’s father.. we know you are resting in a better place…“, “Junsu oppa, be strong!”, “May he rest in peace“, and more.
