KARA ranks #6 in Japan's Powerful Celebrity Ranking

Girl group KARA’s status as the Hallyu representative in Japan has been proven once more.

Japan’s famous entertainment magazine ‘Nikkei Entertainment’ released the results of its annual survey ranking the power of celebrities from the first half of 2012. Only teenagers were allowed to participate in the survey and KARA came in at sixth place.

It has been reported that KARA’s popularity beat that of Japan’s famous female idol group, AKB48. Most notably, KARA also stood as the lone Hallyu star in the survey’s top ten ranking. 

Meanwhile, KARA finished their signature perfume line promotion in Singapore on the 10th, the members will be focusing on individual careers for a while.

Seungyeon discharged from the hospital

KARA’s Han Seungyeon has been discharged from the hospital.

On July 11th, an official from KARA’s agency revealed, “Han Seungyeon got out of the hospital this morning. She seems to be getting a lot better, so she will start continuing schedules soon.”

“She was exhausted, and the weather also made her even more tired. We didn’t really worry about such a situation, but she ended up collapsing. She feels much better now”, the official added.

Seungyeon has been admitted to the hospital for symptoms of acute anemia on July 7 and had to cancel her fragrance launching event in Singapore with other KARA members. 

The agency confirmed that Seungyeon would head straight to Malaysia to re-join her members in their activities.

Jiyeon poses with a mini umbrella!

T-ara's Jiyeon unveiled a new selca on her Twitter earlier today.

She mentioned,"Got no idea when the rain will come again,remember to take your umbrellas",then she posted the photo shown above.

She is seen posing with a mini umbrella while carving a sweet smile.

Sulli and Minho spotted filming for ‘To the Beautiful You’

f(x)‘s Sulli and SHINee‘s Minho have been spotted in character for their upcoming drama, ‘To the Beautiful You‘!

On an online community board, a few photos were uploaded showing the two leads filming for the drama, gaining much interest from fans as it shows a better look at Sulli’s transformation into a girl disguised as a boy, and Minho in a school uniform!

The much anticipated drama will be airing its first episode in August.

Victoria shares her dreams of opening a bakery on ‘Radio Star’

f(x)‘s Victoria revealed that her dream is to open a bakery.

On the July 11th broadcast of MBC‘s ‘Radio Star‘, guest Victoria stated, “Starting a bakery is my ultimate dream. It will be different from other bakeries.”

“I would like a bakery with a coffee shop, a restaurant, and a buffet all in one,” she continued. “I would serve Korean food, Chinese food, and more so that whoever drops in can enjoy their meal.”

When asked about the group’s profits, Victoria looked a bit upset as she said, “I save it all in a bank here in Korea, because of the exchange rates…”

Meanwhile, this episode of ‘Radio Star’ was a ‘Second Home’ episode starring 2PM‘s Nichkhun, f(x)’s Victoria, and TV personality Robert Holley.

Soyeon is envious of fellow member Hyomin

T-ara member Soyeon expressed her envy of fellow member Hyomin.

On the July 11th broadcast of KBS 2TV‘s ‘Star Life Theater‘, T-ara was busy rehearsing the dance to their new song.

Making time out of their busy schedule, the girls were sweating bullets trying to perfect their routine.

Taking a break from their difficult rehearsal, the girls were then given some food to re-energize. Excitedly, the girls began their feast, but there was one member that simply watched them from afar. It was none other than Soyeon.

“This is the time for me to refrain from eating,” she said. “Our comeback is only a few days away. I have to properly manage myself [to maintain my figure].”

When asked if there was a member who eats without gaining any weight, Soyeon gestured towards Hyomin. “I’m so jealous that she doesn’t gain weight, without even being disciplined,” Soyeon said.

Jiyeon admits that she has no friends at school

T-ara member Jiyeon has revealed that her only companions outside of her girl group are soloist IUand f(x)‘s Luna.

On the July 11th episode of KBS‘s ‘Star Life Theatre’, Jiyeon admitted, “Honestly, I don’t have any friends at school.” She continued to explain, “In order to attend broadcasting activities more comfortably, I have transferred high schools three times, and because of this I haven’t been able to adjust.”

“Even if I try to adjust, my classmates keep viewing me as a celebrity,” she added sadly, before further confessing, “But it’s also because my school attendance has gotten so bad that I can’t make friends.”

She concluded, “And so, my only real friends are IU and Luna. It seems like they are the only two same-aged people I think really fondly of.”

Later on in the episode, the T-ara member was seen visiting IU’s house and displaying her intimate friendship with the soloist. Despite Jiyeon’s earlier sad revelation, it is a relief to know that she still has close friends in the industry.

Victoria’s shares her love for chicken brains and fermented fish on ‘Radio Star’

f(x) leader Victoria shared her unique and shocking love for quirky and exotic foods.

On the July 11th episode of MBC‘s ‘Radio Star‘, Victoria began, “I like Korean dwenjang (soybean paste) soup as well as CheongGukJang (often nicknamed ‘dead body soup’ for it’s odor’).”

“I even eat pig intestines and hongeo (fermented skate),” she said, shocking the MCs.

2PM‘s Nichkhun who was another guest on the show, however, had a bit of a weaker stomach. “I can’t eat things like CheongGukJang and pig intestines,” he said.

Robert Holley, a Westerner who well-adapted himself to Korean culture long ago was able to relate with Victoria. “Fermented Skate is delicious when wrapped,” he said. “The smell isn’t great, but it cures your cold right away.”

Victoria was then asked if she also eats chicken feet, and she gave yet another shocking response. “I actually love chicken brains,” she said. “There’s not much quantity, but it tastes like delectable tofu. I also like fish eyes and cow tongue.”

Amber hangs out with Min and Jia

Looks like f(x)'s Amber is enjoying her short breaks in between her active promotions with the rest of f(x) and hangs out with her close friends. On the 10th of July, Amber updated her twitter and shared, "A week ago" and shared a group photo with Miss A's Min and Jia.

On the photo you can see them wearing casual clothes hanging out in the streets and edited the photo and added stickers. Amber is a handsome King with a crown and a mustache while Min and Jia shows off their cute and quirky sides with their pose. Netizens commented, "They really made use of their photo sticker editing", "they look so cool", "Amber has such a masculine atmosphere in that photo".
