2PM wraps up "Hands Up" concert in Nanjing


Korea’s "Beastly Idol" 2PM successfully wrapped up their first concert in China.

On February 25, 2PM met their Chinese fans at their concert titled "Hands Up Asia Tour," which took place at the Nanjing Olympic Stadium in Nanjing, China. With all of its 9,000 tickets sold out, the concert was given wholehearted support from the Chinese fans of all ages.

The concert promoter was quoted as saying, "The local fans have eagerly awaited 2PM’s performance. Everyone was able to feel the energy of the Chinese fans." 

As a result of the high level of interest, 2PM ranked second on Chinese search engine Weibo’s real-time hit list, and number of people swarmed to 2PM’s promotional event, hotel, and the airport to see 2PM members.

Besides this being their first concert in China, 2PM also performed a meaningful act of donating part of the concert proceeds to the "Change the Tables and Chairs for the Children" event on Weibo, changing school furniture for over 200 students. Just recently, 2PM also donated some of the proceeds from their Thai concert towards "Red Cross Thailand."

JYP Entertainment stated, "We really thank you for your love and support to 2PM’s first Asian tour. 2PM members are still touched after interacting with you at the concert. We’ll try our best until we finish the tour in Hong Kong."

2PM wraps up successful concert in Nanjing!

2PM has wrapped up a successful concert in Nanjing.
On February 25th, 2PM put on an electrifying show at the Nanjing leg of their first Asian tour. Dubbed the ‘Hands Up Asia Tour‘, this long anticipated tour has seen the group perform in Taiwan, Jakarta, Singapore, Bangkok, Nanjing and Hong Kong. It has received explosive response from their fans as all seats for each performance sold out for a total of 52,000 tickets sold.
At the Nanjing show, a total of 9,000 fans flocked to see the boys perform. The concert promoter was quoted as saying, “The local fans have eagerly awaited 2PM’s performance. Everyone was able to feel the energy of the Chinese fans.” As a result of the high level of interest, the group reached #2 on Chinese search engine Weibo‘s real-time trending list. Furthermore, fans used every opportunity to see 2PM by following them from the airport and waiting outside the members’ hotel.
2PM, who recently donated some of the proceeds from their Thai concert towards “Red Cross Thailand”, decided to donate a part of the Nanjing concert proceeds to China’s “Change the Tables and Chairs for the Children” event.
“Change the Tables and Chairs for the Children” allowed 2PM to donate proceeds so that underfunded schools in China could update worn out school furniture for over 200 students.
JYP Entertainment released a statement saying, “We earnestly give thanks to the fans around Asia who have shown great interest and support for 2PM’s first Asian tour. 2PM members are still touched at the love from the fans at the Nanjing performance. We will do out best as we prepare for the last performance in Hong Kong.”
2PM returned to Korea on the 26th after the completion of their Nanjing performance.

Online vote for 2PM’s Japanese album track list draws 30,000 netizens

An online vote for the track list of 2PM‘s new Japanese album drew 30,000 netizens.
On March 14th, 2PM will be releasing a best hits album titled ‘2PM Best of 2008-2011 in Korea‘. This album, set for release in Japan, will feature a track list made up of fan favorite Korean songs.
An online vote was opened from January 18th to January 30th, and it drew over 30,000 fans who flocked to vote for their favorite songs. As a result, songs such as “10 Points out of 10,” “Heartbeat“ and “Hand Up“ were selected as 2PM’s greatest hits.
A total of fifteen fan-selected songs will be featured in this best hits album. Furthermore, memberJunsu‘s self composed track, ‘Alive‘ as well as Junho and Wooyoung‘s yet to be revealed track, ‘Move On‘ will be included in the album.
Additionally, 2PM will be holding a “Guess the track list” event with the release of this album. 5 fans who correctly guess the entire track list will be invited to 2PM’s Japanese performance on May 24-30th.
In related news, 2PM is currently in the midst of their Asian tour.

T-ara to halt acting activities in 2012

Popular Hallyu group T-ara has recently announced that they will be halting their acting activities for 2012.
On February 26th, T-ara announced through their company Core Contents Media that, “This year, we will be temporarily taking a break from our acting activities to focus on our album promotions.
The president of Core Contents Media, Kim Kwang Soo added, “This coming July will see the creation of T-ara’s long awaited official fan club, as well as a large scale concert to celebrate T-ara’s 3rd year anniversary.” It has also been revealed that the group will be increasing their Japanese activities by allocating 30% of their time to promote there, compared to the previous 10%.
T-ara, who has a string of hits since their debut in 2009, is not only known for their extensive music activities, but also their individual activities in dramas as well as variety shows.
In related news, T-ara has recently wrapped up their successful promotions for ‘Lovey-Dovey‘.  The group will be immediately launching a Japanese promotional blitz for their upcoming release of ‘Roly-Poly‘.

Donghae & Eunhyuk to hold fan event in Japan


Hallyu group Super Junior members Donghae and Eunhyuk will be releasing their hit duet single "Oppa Oppa" in Japan on April 4. "Oppa Oppa" was first performed by the duo during the Super Junior's world tour, ‘Super Show 4’, back in November of last year and was promoted briefly through weekly music programs.

To commemorate the of their duet song, Eunhyuk and Donghae will hold a fan event in Japan. According to Super Junior's official Japanese website, the two idols will meet selected fans in Tokyo on April 11.

The Japanese version of "Oppa Oppa" will be available in three different editions. The album will include the Japanese and Korean version of the title track of the same title, as well as their B-side duo track, "First Love."

KARA hits #1 on Mobile Music Charts in Japan with "Step"


Hallyu girl group KARA continue to sweep overwhelming popularity in Japan, adding up another feat to their impressive list of achievements in the country.

KARA's Japanese version of "Step" has reached number one on the mobile music charts in Japan. The album, released on February 22, stole the top spot within a day of its release on the Japan's largest mobile siteRecochoku.

In related news, KARA is currently in the midst of preparations for the second leg of their "KARASIA" tour, which will take place in Japan starting April 14. The group several cities including Yokohama, Osaka, Fukuoka and Tokyo.

T-ara to hold concert and fan club launch in July


As reported earlier, girl group T-ara will be halting their acting career and will focus more on their music career. The group revealed that they are planning on holding an inauguration ceremony for their brand new fan club, as well as a large-scale concert this summer.

On the 26th of February, Core Contents Media announced that T-ara will be meeting their fans with a new album and will launch an official fan club. They will also have a grand concert to mark their third anniversary since debut in July. 

The company's CEO Kim Kwangsoo further stated, "T-ARA has been very successful this year with ‘Lovey-Dovey‘ and has been extremely happy to have received a triple crown for it. The girls are very excited and nervous for the opportunity to hold their first fan club meeting and first concert this July."

Meanwhile, T-ara has concluded their promotions in Korea and is currently preparing for the release of their "Roly Poly" album in Japan.

T-ara to temporarily pause acting and focus on their music career this 2012


T-ara's agency has declared that members of the group will be halting their acting career temporarily which draws regret from fans. T-ara's agency said on the 26th of February, "T-ara will be celebrating their third year since debut this year and we are planning for a mega concert for T-ara and their fans. In preparation for this, they will be pausing their acting career and focus more on their music career".

T-ara made their debut in 2009 and they have received huge popularity ever since with releases of hit after hits from the group. Also, the member's are not only popular on music shows but also on drama's as member's have debuted in various drama's and are popular for their acting career as well.

However, this 2012, things will be different for T-ara, as they will not be juggling both at the same time and focus on their music career for now as their agency have big plans for the group with their upcoming concerts and Japanese promotions.
