KARA achieves ‘Triple Platinum’ status with ‘Super Girl’

KARA has added another feat to add to their impressive list of achievements in Japan.

According to the Record Industry Association of Japan’s ‘Million Singles/Albums’ list for the month of January, KARA’s second official album, ‘Super Girl’ (released on November 23rd) has reached ‘Triple Platinum’ status!

The prestigious status is only awarded to albums that have sold over 750,000 copies, while ‘Platinum’ goes to those that sold at least 250,000, and 500,000 for ‘Double Platinum’.

‘Super Girl’ contains KARA’s hits like “Jet Coaster Love”, “Go Go Summer”, and “Winter Magic”, in addition to Japanese versions of songs from their third official Korean album and other hit songs.

In related news, KARA is currently in the midst of preparations for their Asia tour, ‘KARASIA’. The girls will be kicking off with their first concert on February 18th and 19th at Seoul Olympic Park.

Eunhyuk & Donghae to release “Oppa, Oppa” in Japan

After sweeping hearts in Korea with their funky single, ‘Oppa Has Arrived‘, Super Junior‘s Eunhyukand Donghae will aim to do the same thing in Japan come April.

According to Super Junior’s official Japanese site, ‘Oppa Has Arrived’ will be released on April 4th in Japan under the title, ‘Oppa, Oppa‘.

The unit performed this song for the first time during their world tour, ‘Super Show 4′, back in November of last year, and even promoted the track through music programs briefly.

With its retro-disco vibe and entertaining lyrics, the song is bound to get fans in Japan to scream “Oppa Oppa” as well.

In related news, Super Junior will be holding their concert at the Tokyo Dome in May.

Nichkhun transforms into a dating coach on ‘Masquerade’

2PM‘s Nichkhun appears to have be an expert when it comes to dating advice.

During the shoot for the February 11th episode of SBS E!’s reality dating program, ‘Secret Date Show Masquerade‘, Nichkhun transformed into a knowledgeable dating coach.

A personal trainer to the stars made a special appearance on the show, and invited the 2PM members to offer their expertise to the men who needed to win the hearts of the ladies.

The 2PM boys shared their ideas, but the male contestants seemed to agree that Nichkhun offered the best ‘romantic’ idea. The singer suggested the men try drinking warm and frothy hot cocoa with the ladies and attempt a romantic ‘foam kiss’.

Fellow 2PM members Taecyeon and Wooyoung also offered their know-hows on how to successfully win a date with the ladies, and their expert advice will be revealed on the February 11th episode.

Luna & SS501′s Kim Kyu Jong share a kiss on ‘Ajumma Go Bong Shil’

Luna of girl group f(x) and SS501‘s Kim Kyu Jong shared their first kiss in their drama, ‘Saving Ajumma Go Bong Shil‘!

The kiss scene was reportedly Kim Kyu Jong’s own idea, and the singer remarked, “It was just an idea I threw out, in order to establish the love relationship in the drama, and… I am grateful to the writer…”

“I was really nervous, and I hope that all of you will tune in to find out what happens in the relationship,” he added.

His co-star Luna expressed her emotions saying, “I know that I am still lacking in a lot of ways, but I will work hard considering this is my first time acting.”

This kiss scene is drawing major attention from viewers everywhere, as it was one that took place between two of today’s top idol stars.

Who is the best ‘Valentine’s Day Star Couple’?

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and that means chocolate exchanges, romantic dinners, and flower bouquets for couples in love. Naturally, this includes celebrity couples as well, and netizens became curious to see which couple would stand out the most.

Music site ‘Monkey3‘ is famous for conducting online surveys, and they decided to hold another one in light of the upcoming holiday.

From February 2nd to the 8th, participants were asked, “Which star couple would make Valentine’s Dayshine the most?”

The top recipient was none other than Se7en and Park Han Byul!  The couple have been going out for 10 years, and so they collected 35 percent of the total votes, bumping off all other competitors.

Others couples included Kara‘s Goo Hara and B2ST‘s Yong Junhyung (19%), Gong Hyo Jinand Ryu Seung Bum (15%), and SG Wannabe‘s Kim Yong Jun & Hwang Jung Eum (13%).

KARA's Supergirl album gets certified triple platinum in Japan!

Girl group KARA has made another huge achievement in Japan! Recording Industry Association of Japan has announced on the 10th of February a list of albums that received recognition for high album sales.

Among them are KARA for their album "Supergirl" which was released last November 2011 and it has received a triple platinum recognition for it's sales exceeding 750,000 copies. 

It has only been three month's since their album was released in Japan and it already has over 750,000 album sales which is a very huge achievement for an oversea's group. When their album was released, it rose to the top spots in Oricon charts without promotions.

Meanwhile, KARA are busy preparing for their first solo concert and Asian tour "KARASIA" and they will be having their first concert on the 18th and 19th of February in Seoul Olympic Park Stadium in Korea.

Female duo Davichi shows off their glamorous bodies. On the 10th of February, Kang Min Kyung updated her twitter saying, "Our duo, I love you, Its delicious" and shared a couple of photo's of her and fellow member Lee Hye Ri.

On the photo, you can see the two girls wearing leopard-patterned dresses and sitting beside a box of presents from fans. You can see their milky white complexion and slender legs. However, netizens noticed that Kang Jiyoung look's a bit bigger than the rest of the members and also considering that she is the maknae of the group. Look's like Jiyoung is growing up fast and in no time she can be the tallest member in KARA.

2pm's Taecyeon makes a touching congratulatory message to 2pm's sunbae's Wonder Girls. Wonder Girls and 2pm are very close in JYP Entertainment as they are the main representatives of male and female group in JYP. On February 9th, Yesung tweeted "Revealing past photos of the 2 siblings in a long time umhahaha !!" and attached the 2 photos. 

In the photo above, seems Yesung used an application when he took the picture, Yesung can be seen with a serious facial expression while his brother is behind him. These two brothers are indeed good looking.

--- We have this image that Taecyeon is a big brother, and Chansung is the youngest one. What is it like in real life?

CS: Taecyeon always has his strong will and leads the team at the right time….

TY: …What a cool guy.

CS: I was about to say that! LOL He also has a good sense of humor.

TY: Although Chansung is the youngest in 2PM, he is more like a friend who is reliable and gives me convincing pieces of advice. However, at the same time he has a cute side of his. He often bites people.

CS: Yes, frequently. LOL I feel like biting people when I am in a good mood.

--- Chansung, I heard that once you had 49 bananas in a day. Are there any more “legendary” stories of you two?

CS: One day when we were still trainees, a staff-member took us to a kimbab restaurant.

TY: We were always hungry back then, right?

CS: So the sad story was that... The three of us ordered 12 portions of kimbab. The staff-member had one and Taecyeon and I ate the rest.

--- Which part of Taecyeon’s or Chansung’s personality has changed the most since your debut?

CS: Taecyeon never fails to put 2PM first. That part of him hasn’t changed.

TY: The thing about Chansung that hasn’t changed is the fact that he has always been working very hard, so I think he made the biggest improvement among the members.

--- In your opinion, what kind of lady would match Taecyeon/Chansung?

CS: I think someone who has a kind heart and could accept Taecyeon as he is would match him.

TY: Right now, even if Chansung had a girlfriend, he might prioritize 2PM over her. She has to be broad-minded and understand his position.

--- If a lady just like what you’ve said appeared and you both fell in love with her…

CS: Ah, I would surrender.

TY: Oh okay, then I’d go out with her. LOL No, the most important thing is the lady’s opinion, so I’ll leave up to her to decide. So anyway, why would you give up so easily?

CS: I don’t want to have any trouble with Taecyeon, because we will be working together in the future...

TY: See? This is the reason why Chansung’s woman has to be someone very understanding.

CS: I see. I wonder if I can find such a person though… LOL

--- Lastly, what do you think will become of you in 10 years’ time?

CS: I think Taecyeon will be a model for a European top class brand. I think he’ll become a grown-up, who suits that sort of fashion.

TY: Thank you. LOL I think Chansung will be a singer who specializes in ballroom dancing.

CS: Hahahaha.What is that!?

TY: You’ll be a first person to do singing and ballroom dancing at the same time. LOL But I am sure we will continue being 2PM. I think each of us will be doing our own things, and get together as fellow members and good friends in 10 years of time.
