T-ara to conclude Japanese tour at Budokan

T-ara has announced that they’ll be wrapping up their Japanese tour with a grand finale at theBudokan!

The girls will be performing on July 25-26, 6:30PM at Tokyo’s Budokan. TVXQ, Lee Seung Gi, 2PM, and F.T. Island have performed on the “dream stage” in the past.

Despite the concert taking place on a weekday instead of the weekend, all 20,000 seats have been sold out.

The T-ara members expressed, “We’re the first Korean [girl group] to perform at the Budokan. We will work hard to show the power of Korean girl groups before our return. Please look forward to it, as we’ve prepared a lot of new stages along with performances of our hit Japanese singles.”

The group started their Japanese tour this past June.

V.G. After singing isn't it difficult acting again?

Sulli Truthfully I do feel burdened since I'm starting to act again after such a long time. But the things I used to do, like playing around with the staff everyday and conversing with the director, began to surface in my memory one by one as soon as the filming started. Without even my knowing, I must have missed that atmosphere of a filming set. Because it somehow feels like I've discovered myself these days, acting feels more comfortable now.

V.G. What was it like when you received the offer for For You in Full Blossom? You must have fretted over having to cut your hair.

Sulli There might be a misunderstanding if I speak like this, but as soon as I saw the original I thought that I absolutely must do it. I suddenly received the sensation that "there is no one to absorb this role other than myself." I felt that I could do really, really well. I think I felt rueful for just one minute right before cutting my hair.

V.G. Is the role of Goo Jaehee similar to the Sulli whom we've known?

Sulli It likely won't be the 'cute and lovable Sulli.' However, there are quite a few aspects that are similar to my real image. Most people think of me as a child with a lot of cuteness, but truthfully I'm a bit gruff and I have somewhat of a masculine side. I also tend not to express myself. It's been difficult to bring out that part of me in f(x), so I think it worked out well that I can naturally show something close to my real image through this role.

V.G. Did you reference the characters played by Yoon Eunhye or Park Shinhye?

Sulli I referenced them in regards to outfits and hairstyles. I enjoyed watching both Coffee Prince and You are Beautiful, and truthfully even then I thought "The roles of Go Eunchan and Go Minam would suit me well." Haha.

V.G. I'm aware that you will become the main character in a love triangle. Between Kang Taejoon's brusque and manly style and Cha Eungyul's kindhearted style, which does Sulli actually like?

Sulli Manliness is nice, but I still think that a sentimental style who looks after you well is good. I like guys who will talk to me first. Please reference this. Haha.

V.G. Could you become reckless for love like Goo Jaehee?

Sulli If it's someone I really like I could do reckless things to no end, but I don't know if I could turn the cogs of my brain like Jaehee. I have no confidence in something like coming up with a perfect plan. I'm not very meticulous.

V.G. If this drama becomes a hit, is there something you want to do?

Sulli Um, a shampoo CF! When you go to the store, there are pictures on the shampoos. But only really pretty stars are gathered there. Truthfully I was a bit jealous whenever I saw that.

V.G. If you could become another member of f(x) for just a day, who would you choose?

Sulli I want to become Victoria unnie and try doing a split. And then try sleeping like that. And if my eyes become big like unnie's, wouldn't I be able to see more of the world than I do now? Ack, is that a bit nonsensical?

V.G. Have you practiced the high jump a lot? Judging from your victory on Let's Go! Dream Team you did well, at the level of an actual athlete.

Minho I began to practice about a month and a half before we went into active filming. I thought that it was easy up until the first week or two, but it was so different from what I did on Dream Team. High jumpers do a back flip and this is very difficult. High jumping is extremely hard even compared to other athletic events, so they say that even athletes avoid it.

V.G. Kang Taejoon is a character which any woman would fall for, to what extent do you think you're in sync with the character?

Minho For now I'll put it at about 50%. We share many similar aspects in terms of personality, but things like our family relationships and the attitude with which we treat others are different. I watched the Japanese drama and looked for the original work too, but I can't say that we're completely similar because he's a character who is pure but still manly with outstanding looks. I'll just say that I want to express him well and emulate the character.

V.G. How will you show a different image from Oguri Shun, who took on the same role in the Japanese drama?

Minho The method of expression is different according to each person who acts. I'm interpreting the character with a bit of a different feel from Oguri Shun. Rather than with words, please confirm this on August 15th through the broadcast! Haha.

V.G. SHINee's Minho and actor Minho, and the Minho who partakes in photoshoots like today. Among these, which is the most difficult role?

Minho Acting. I can just show myself when I sing and dance and take pictures, but when I act I have to naturally express someone other than myself so it's difficult. And having to create a side which the drama's viewers can empathize with is the most difficult.

V.G. If one day you can have your pick of any production, what type of movie would you like to do?

Minho Action or a noir movie along Quentin Tarantino's style. I want to try doing a movie that guys will like but that will probably be possible in the far future, not with my current image.

V.G. Speaking of your image, are you seeking the image of an upright young man? I once saw you at a piercing shop, and you cut short the staff members who were encouraging you to get a piercing saying "I won't."

Minho (very surprised) Wow! I went just that once, but you saw that. Truthfully, I was curious. The members have gotten a lot of piercings too. I'm not trying to go for an upright image in particular, but for some reason I think that funky outfits and piercings won't suit me. Once my stylist got hold of magnetic earrings which didn't require pierced ears but when I looked in the mirror, as expected it looked strange. In addition, I lost them after not even an hour. So in conclusion, "upright young man" isn't of my own will but something that can't be helped. Haha.

Eunjung "We want to enjoy the stage without the pressure of being #1"

Girl group T-ara’s “Lovey-Dovey” is the #1 song downloaded for the first half of 2012. “The pressure to get new #1 songs is there now, but we enjoy making the song come alive every stage,” T-ara said.

Gaon recently released their chart rankings for the first half of 2012 and T-ara’s “Lovey-Dovey” was downloaded over 3.33 million times, making it #1. OSEN was able to interview T-ara’s Eunjung over the phone.

In a phone interview with a reporter, Eunjung said, “I just heard the news. It’s really unexpected and hard to believe that we were able to be ranked number one when there were a lot of senior groups who promoted too, but I’m really happy.”

“I want to tell the rest of the members soon. Everyone will like this news. We’re working hard promoting our current song ‘Day by Day’ so this will be really encouraging to us,” Eunjung said.

T-ara’s “Roly-Poly” was the #1 song of last year on the same chart. When asked what T-ara’s secret to getting popular hit songs, Eunjung said it’s “variety.”

“We have our own color despite taking on the challenge of doing a variety of different genres,” Eunjung expressed. “Our strength is that our music and the feeling when watching us on stage is different than normal. For example, “Lovey-Dovey” had a fun and colorful shuffle dance which became popular and helped us gain more love.”

T-ara plan to continue with their popular hook songs “Bo Peep Bo Peep”, “Roly-Poly” and “Lovey-Dovey” in the 2nd half of the year. The pressure to get another #1 is very clear for them.

Eunjung said, “It’s a burden when we rank on song charts. I think it’d be nice to have every song be #1 (laughs), but getting rid of our greed, I want to enjoy and have fun on stage. For our current song ‘Day by Day’, T-ara is showing our existing image but fans can expect a new image for our new song. Our members are all excited for it.”

T-ara will comeback on August 15th with “Sexy Love” after promoting “Day by Day”.

Gyuri and Nicole open up about the difficulties of becoming an idol

KARA members Nicole and Gyuri recently participated in a shoot for an upcoming episode of KBS2‘s ‘Do Dream‘ and opened up about the hardships of being an idol star.

Gyuri began, “Before my debut, I was getting ready to sign with one agency and I went with my parents to review the contract. But with the contract, they also prepared an estimate for plastic surgery and said that I would not be able to debut if I did not get work done on my face.”

“I was so upset that they were saying this in front of my parents who gave birth to me,” Gyuri continued. She also revealed another instance she became stressed about her looks when she added,“Later on, when I debuted with KARA, because I look more mature compared to the other members, a lot of people asked why I was in the group and I lost a lot of confidence.”

Fellow member Nicole then shared, “I began learning Japanese about two years ago, and it was so hard to learn another foreign language especially when being taught in Korean, which I was already struggling with. In Japan, I was afraid I would make a mistake while speaking or lose my flow, so I would just not talk all together.”

Nichkhun joined JYPE because of Rain?

2PM‘s Nichkhun revealed that he joined JYP Entertainment because of Rain.

Nichkhun guest-featured on the ’5 Million Dollar Stars’ special of KBS 2TV‘s ‘Happy Together 3‘ that aired July 19th.

The singer began explaining how he was found by JYP Entertainment officials while he was attending a Korean Festival in Los Angeles, California.

At the time, Nichkhun had no intention of becoming an artist, and had no intention of entering JYP Entertainment.

However, his grandmother was watching the popular Korean drama ‘Full House‘ at the time, and she was a huge fan of then-JYP Entertainment artist Rain, who was starring in the drama.

With her interest in Rain, Nichkhun revealed that he had decided to sign with JYP Entertainment.

Also on this episode were J.Y. Park and actress Min Hyo Rin.

Eunjung spotted on the set of a recent ‘Running Man’ shoot

T-ara‘s Eunjung has been spotted filming for an upcoming episode of SBS ‘Running Man‘!

Various online portal sites posted the photos above, where the singer is sporting athletic gear, filming alongside other idols such as Super Junior‘s Eunhyuk, ZE:A‘s Siwan, B2ST‘s Doojoon, and more.

It looked as though there would be some competition between the guests and the fixed ‘Running Man’ cast members, as the idols were dressed in blue sweatsuits while Song Ji Hyo, Ji Suk Jin, HaHa and others were snapped dressed in black and white.

This particular ‘Running Man’ shoot was for the upcoming ’2012 London Olympics’ special of the program, and also participating in the shoot were CNBLUE‘s Yonghwa, and MBLAQ‘s Lee Joon.

The episode airs on July 22nd at 6PM!

'To the Beautiful You' releases individual character cuts

After unveiling the first preview poster, the most buzzed-about upcoming drama, ‘To the Beautiful You’ is back to boost your anticipation with the release of the individual cuts of characters.

Released on July 20th, the photos include f(x)’s Sulli, SHINee’s Minho, Lee Hyun Woo, Kang Ha Neul, ZE:A’s Kwanghee, and Seo Jun Young posing with similarly in their stylish school uniforms.

Based on a Japanese manga, ‘To the Beautiful You’ is about Goo Jae Hee (Sulli), an extreme fan girl of champion high-jumper Kang Tae Joon (Minho), who tries to make a comeback from a career-threatening injury. To help revive his career, Jae Hee impersonates a guy to attend Tae Joon’s all boys high school.

Nicole becomes less talkative because of her phobia to variety!

Nicole who made appearance on KBS' Talk Show Do Dream revealed that she developed a phobia to variety and became less talkative.

2 years ago while starting their Japan activities she also started learning Japanese language but Nicole who attended school in USA and have poor korean, said learning other foreign language by using Korean language was really tiring.

Because of that by she was afraid that if by any chance she will make a mistake or can't follow the flow so she didn't talked much in japan.

Since she lived in abroad in Japan for long time, she also experiences difficulties that overlapped with homesickness.

Gyuri couldn't debut if she didn't do plastic surgery!

KARA's Gyuri confessed that she was suggested to get plastic surgery before debut. 

Gyuri who made appearance on KBS's alk Show Do Dream revealed because she looks older than the other members, when she heard someone said "why did that person there?" her confidence slowly decreasing.

also before debut, to sign a contract with a company she went with her parents but she was shocked because of the quotation on the contract and the company also said that she unable to debut if she didn't do plastic surgery. She recalled that she was distressed to hear that in front of her parents who gave birth to her.

Besides that, KARA's Nicole revealed her story about her trauma and her diminished phobia of variety.

Super Junior‘s Yesung tweeted on July 18th, “Wearing Y style glasses. It’s been a while since Two Woon,” along with the above photos of himself and Kangin.

“Two Woon” is a nickname for the duo, created by combining the second syllable of Kangin (Young Woon) and Yesung’s (Jong Woon) real names.

Fans commented, “They are both good looking,” and “Please come on variety shows together.”

f(x) to debut with "Hot Summer" in Japan

Girl group f(x), who swept various music charts, ended their activities with “Electric Shock” and is gearing up for its Japanese debut. It has been revealed that the girls will heat up the summer season in Japan with debut title track, “Hot Summer”.

According to SM Entertainment on July 19th, f(x) will be releasing the Japanese version of their hit track “Hot Summer” in mid-August. The song was orginally listed in the repackaged version of their first full-length album ‘PINOCCHIO’ released last year. 

Last month, f(x) launched an official Japanese teaser website (www.fx-jp.jp) for their upcoming debut. The website shows the logo of f(x) in a plain black background, with each character linking to group’s profile, mail magazine section and Facebook page.
