T-ara reveals they’re “more afraid” of their company than their parents

On July 29th, T-ara members Eunjung, Jiyeon, and Hyomin guested on YTN’s ‘News and Issue – Issue and People’. They were asked a variety of questions, however, a particular question caught the viewers’ immediate attention, as it involved their feelings about their company, Core Contents Media.

YTN’s anchorman Lee Kwang Yeon asked them, “Are you more afraid of your parents or your company?”

Maknae Jiyeon answered, “I think we are more scared of our company. The company manages the members in a very strict manner. Of course we don’t get enough sleep, but some times they forget to provide us meals.”

Eunjung then stated, “Jiyeon frequently has to ask for meals. I think its because we are so busy that the company has no opportunity to feed us.”

The group was then asked about the strict diets that many girl groups are put through. Eunjung answered, “We have a separate period for diets. When we diet, we faithfully follow it, but when we don’t, we eat to our delight. These days, instead of being forced, we have the choice to do what we want.”

At the end of the interview, the anchorman asked, “Won’t your company CEO scold you after he sees this?”, to which the girls replied, “It’s okay.”

After School Japanese Magazines Upcoming Features

According to their Japanese official website, the girls will appear on the next magazines' issues:

Quote
08/06 「POTATO」
08/10 「Gainer」
08/10 「Rolling stone」
08/12 「CUTiE」
08/17 「JELLY」
08/23 「Ray」
08/23 「ViVi」
08/27 「月刊EXILE」
09/01 「Fine」
09/07 「steady.」
09/20 「non-no」

The ones of August should be already out, since in Japan magazines come out a month earlier, unless the date aren't the magazines' issues one but the release dates for the issues (in that case, August's would be September's or even October's issue...)

POTATO is one of the Johnny's magazines that features actresses, some other idol actors and not that much groups appart of Johnny's in it (there are more Johnny's magazine like POTATO), is not their best one, but a start is a start, a lot of girls are going to see that.

And, for the other magazines, Rolling Stone apart, Being featured in ViVi is a great start as well, since is one of the references for Gyaru and others who like to follow trends.

By the way, notice that their official Japanese site, doesn't feature the Bang! Video yet. I'm not sure which channel released it officially, but is not in Pledis youtube channel nor in their website either.

KARA’s Seungyeon cries over kittens on her new show, ‘TV Animal Farm’

On July 29th, SBS revealed that KARA’s Seungyeon was officially cast as an MC for their popular animal program, ‘TV Animal Farm‘.

Representatives of SBS said, “After Shinji departed from the program, stars like f(x)’s Sulli, After School’s Kahi and Lizzy, Brown Eyed Girls’ Narsha, and many others have been acting as one-day MCs for the program. However, we have finally made the final decision of casting Seungyeon to join the cast of MCs.”

Producers of the show revealed that Seungyeon was a perfect fit for the program, as she’s known for her love of animals; she also has lot of personal experience with raising dogs and hedgehogs.

Her first duty as an MC for the program was to visit an animal rescue scene. After receiving reports of a baby kitten being near death one night, Seungyeon and the producers headed directly to the scene to help with rescue efforts.

Upon arrival, Seungyeon discovered a kitten injured from what seemed like an accident. After close inspection of the area, she was able to discover the mother cat and her kittens. Unfortunately, the mother was dead, which the kittens did not know. After seeing the kittens continue to search for her embrace, Seungyeon couldn’t help but burst into tears.

Although she wanted to rush the rescue efforts, the producers were wary of the kittens’ conditions, especially since they could have been infected. To prevent further accidents from occurring, Seungyeon cautiously watched over the kittens until a rescue team arrived in the early morning.

NYC Korea Day new date (AUGUST 16, 2011) + Performance by Sorea!

The Korean American Globalization Committee of Eastern US has officially announced the new date for NYC’s second annual Korea Day! The date has been modified to AUGUST 16 2011, from the original date of July 29th. The date has been postponed in order to better accommodate the activities and dining for this ongoing heat wave. We apologize for any inconveniences this may have caused the public, but please note that the location, menu and festivities have not been changed.

With the help and support of the Korean Cultural Service NY and many Korean restaurant businesses in the local area, Korea Day aims to share our native Korean culture with New Yorkers in the heart of Central Park.

The festivities will be the same as planned prior; the event will begin at 11am and end around 7pm, and it will be filled with live outdoor performances and plenty of good eats. The announced K-pop contest will be adjusted according to the new schedule as well.

In order to promote Korean culture and more specifically, Korean food – the KCSNY have decided on traditional Korean dishes such as Bulgogi, Daegi Bulgogi, lettuce wraps, Kimchi, Korean pancakes, Japchae, Ddukboki, and Bibimbap to serve at the event. They hope that the NYC public will gain a better understanding of Korean culture when they see the complexity of the dishes.

In order to allow the attendees to fully experience how Korean food is prepared, there will be different booths set up at the event. One will be making fresh rice-cakes, another will be making kimchi from scratch, and a large vat of bibimbap will be mixed on-site. There will also be a booth set up with basic information on Korean food, as well as the standard sauces and ingredients that go into preparing Korean food.

To open and end the cultural performances, KCSNY has invited from Korea the band ‘Sorea‘, who specialize in performing traditional Korean music, and best known for their K-Pop covers, particularly,SNSD’s Gee.

In addition, the classical orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of CAMERATA Virtuosi NJ, will also be in attendance. Cultural booths will also be set up so that attendees can also try on traditional Korean clothing (hanbok).

Furthermore, the Korean Cultural Services NY (KCSNY director Woo Sung Lee) in collaboration with NJ based, Korean pop culture news website allkpop.com (6Theory Media CEO Johnny Noh) will host the first New York K-POP Contest. Of the many contestants that have auditioned online, the eight teams that have made it to the finals will be performing live at the event on August 16th. The single winner of the contest will receive a round-trip ticket to Korea (sponsored by Asiana Airlines), as well as be able to participate in the ‘Worldwide KPOP Contest” taking place in Korea on November 26, 2011.
