[NEWS] Gayoon crushes MBLAQ's G.O. in a battle of words

4mintue's Gayoon's use of cutting words has become a hot topic.

On the next episode of MBC's hit show, Flower Bouquet (9/26 at 4:10pm) Gayoon had a verbal quarrel with MBLAQ's G.O. and Secret's Sunhwa and her sharp tongue and lead to a victory that drew much attention.

During the argument she asked, "Do you have a girlfriend?" causing him to be speechless. She also caught him off guard when she directly asked "Isn't it true MBLAQ and T-ara have a co-ed party?" referring to a close relationship that the two groups have.

Continuing the verbal showdown, Gayoon poked fun at his use of falsetto, causing Sunhwa to forget what she was going to say in surprise.

[NEWS] Who is the Most Popular Korean Girl Group in Japan?

Korean girl groups have landed with a bang in Japan. So who is the most popular group and girl group member?

We looked for the member with the biggest fan club on Mixi, Japan’s largest social networking site. Of course, the numbers could be different from reality since we are just looking at limited numbers from one website. However, it is notable that Mixi is the most used social networking site for the young generation in Japan and it is the biggest social networking site with over two million users.

According to the fan club member count on September 24th, Koo Hara had the biggest fan club with about 6,500 members. This was somewhat expected since Koo Hara was famous before debuting for looking like popular Japanese singer, Amuro Namie.

The girl with the second highest fan club membership was Girls’ Generation’s Yoona, with about 5,500 members. Yoona has claimed the number one spot before in a survey for “the most popular Girls’ Generation member in Japan”.

Kara’s Nicole (4,500 members), Girls’ Generation’s Tae Yeon (3,300 members), and Kara’s Kang Ji Young (3,200 members) claimed the 3rd, 4th, and 5th spots. Girls’ Generation’s Soo Young and Kara’s Han Seung Yeon both had over 3,000 members in their fan clubs. Other girls also seemed to be very popular with between 2,000 and 3,000 members in their fan clubs.

In terms of groups, Girls’ Generation was the most popular with 24,700 members. They were slightly ahead of Kara (23,800 members), even though they debuted about a month later. Both groups, however, are ranked in the top five girl groups in Japan, including Japanese girl groups. 4minute also has lots of passionate fans. 4minute’s Hyun Ah put up a good fight with about 1,000 fan club members on Mixi.

Korean girl groups really have made their mark in Japan. What do you think about these numbers?
