Cube Entertainment releases first ‘family song’, “Fly So High”!

Cube Entertainment, the record label that signed 4minute, B2ST, and G.Na, have just released their very first ‘family song’, titled “Fly So High“.

“Fly So High” is a collaboration track featuring the afore-mentioned twelve Cube Entertainment family members, now known as ‘U-Cube’. It’s an upbeat and addictive song that harmonizes the artists’ unique talents to create the perfect feel-good summer track.

While the song was in its production stages, the U-Cube family members were honest with one another, offering their experience and expertise to help each other refine their talents, as they worked more earnestly on this track than any of their previous projects.

The U-Cube members will all be performing their ‘Fly So High’ single for the very first time at the UNITED CUBE CONCERT on August 14th. They plan to debut the song on other overseas stages, like in Japan and England.

Cube releases ‘United Cube Concert Episode 3′

Cube Entertainment, the record label that’s home to talented artists such as 4minute, B2ST, andG.NA has just unveiled the third episode of their ‘Fantasy Land‘ teasers for their upcoming family concert!

In the video all the talented Cube artists get together singing, “We Are the World, We are the Children“. Unfortunately, they don’t know the rest of the lyrics so they just keep repeating the chorus.

The “United Cube Concert” will take place on August 14th.

T-ara to remake Nami’s “Round and Round” for follow-up track

T-ara will be remaking senior singer Nami’s song, “Round and Round“, for their follow-up track!

The group plans to continue their retro concept from “Roly-Poly” with this popular hit from the ’80s singer. In her time, Nami was a representative disco singer whose song, “Round and Round”, is still widely enjoyed today.

YB’s Yoon Do Hyun recently created a rock cover of the song, and performed it on MBC’s “I Am a Singer“, placing first on many music charts afterwards.

T-ara’s version of the song will be released on August 12th. In the meantime, keep your eye out for member Hyomin’s new movie ‘Gisaeng Ryung‘, as well as her historical drama, ‘Gyebaek‘.

T-ara’s Hyomin rushed to hospital after fainting from fatigue

It’s being reported that T-ara’s Hyomin has fainted due to fatigue.

On July 19th, Hyomin’s representative revealed,

Hyomin was filming for her MBC drama ‘Gyebaek’ in the countyside since early this morning. As soon as that was over, she fainted on her way back to Seoul for her round-table interview about her lead role in her debut movie, ‘Gisaeng Ryung‘.

As soon as Hyomin fainted, she was taken to the Ajou University Hospital in Gyeonggi Suwon for an examination. She is now on the way to a hospital in Seoul for another check-up.

It seems that her fatigue built up from her busy schedule with T-ara’s new song promotions, filming for her drama, and promotions for her new movie.

First and foremost, we are focusing on taking care of Hyomin’s health. We will worry about how to take care of her schedules afterwards.

The artists have named their “family” ‘U-Cube‘, and the song will be released through online music sites at midnight (12:00AM KST) on July 20th.

“Fly So High” is a collaboration track featuring the afore-mentioned twelve Cube Entertainment family members. It’s been described as an upbeat and addictive song that harmonizes the artists’ unique talents to create the perfect feel-good summer track.

Although popular mini-series “The Greatest Love” came to an end recently, T-ara’s Eunjung seems to have an on-going obsession with character ‘Dokgo Jin‘.

On July 18th, Eunjung tweeted “Dokgo Jin-ssi! Even though ‘The Greatest Love’ ended, this is a present to ‘Dokgo Jin-ssi’ whom I miss” and uploaded a photo of herself posing with a water bottle that had a special ‘Dokgo Jin’ sticker on it.

Netizens responded with, “Eunjung still seems to know ‘Dokgo Jin’“, “The drink seems to cover her face“, and “I’m envious of the drink…Cute Eunjung jjang“.

4minute’s Nam Ji Hyun shows off her fairy-like beauty through selcas

4minute’s Nam Ji Hyun revealed her fairy-like beauty with a recent tweet!

On July 18th, Nam Ji Hyun wrote, “I was pondering whether I should put it up or not! Only look at those you like. Haha“, as she uploaded various photos with different hairstyles.

In one picture, she’s seen showing off her heart ring with a cute expression, and in another she dons an apple hairstyle with a smile, showing off her different charms..

In the pictures, netizens commented, “She is really pretty“, “Do you think these pictures are only pretty? Noona’s pictures are even prettier“, and “Each pictures has a different appeal“.

Meanwhile, 4minute, G.NA, BEAST, and other Cube Entertainment singers will open their family concert on August 25th in Japan.

HyunA’s “Bubble Pop” is the song of the day on Pop Justice

HyunA’s ”Bubble Pop” was chosen as the song of the day on popjustice.com, a popular pop music website in the United Kingdom.

Core Contents Media to create an “Idol Gourmet” variety show

Core Contents Media has announced that they’ll be specially creating an idol variety program centered around raising awareness of Korean cuisine around the world.

On July 18th, CEO Kim Kwang Soo revealed, “We have decided to produce a new program titled ‘Idol Gourmet (temporary title)‘. We’ll be distributing the program overseas to promote Korean cuisine.”

The program will be bringing in idols with strong international fan bases to introduce topics on Korean cuisine, culture, and tourism spots. Idols will be asked to choose their own ingredients for certain dishes and make cook it for the viewers. A special corner will also introduce Korean history and life.

By using idols who international fans are already familiar with, the program hopes to create a synergy effect with their influence.

Current idols in talks for the line-up include KARA, T-ara, Supernova, F.T. Island and others. A total of eight teams will be selected, so stay tuned for updates!

NYC – Make sure to come and celebrate “Korea Day”!

The New York City “Korea Day” festival is just around the corner (July 29th, 2011 at the Naumburg Bandshell in Central Park), so we wanted to make sure you guys don’t forget and join us to celebrate in the festivities and activities on this day. There will be plenty of things to see, as well as delicious food and of course the K-POP Contest – Where one lucky winner will awarded with a round-trip airfare ticket to Korea (Sponsored by ASIANA AIRLINES).

The Korean Cultural Service NY (KCSNY director Woo Sung Lee) in collaboration with English based, Korean pop culture news website allkpop.com (6Theory Media CEO Johnny Noh) will host the New York K-POP Contest on July 29th, 2011, at the Naumburg Bandshell in Central Park for the Second Annual “Korea Day” festival. The New York K-POP Contest will be an opportunity for US residents to participate and showcase their skills in singing and/or dancing, to their favorite K-POP song! And even if you don’t participate, make sure to come out that day to enjoy the “Korea Day” festivities and show!

Preliminary entries for the first round of the New York K-POP Contest will be received and judged for two weeks from July 7th, 2011 (Thursday) to July 21st (Thursday). From the first round, eight selected participants (and/or teams) will be chosen to compete on July 29th, 2011 at the Naumburg Bandshell in Central Park (bet 66th & 72nd Street).

First place contest winner(s) will be awarded one round-trip airfare ticket to Korea (Sponsored byASIANA AIRLINES) to be eligible to participate in the Korean International K-POP contest held this coming November, while second and third place winners will collectively receive other desirable products.

Director Woo Sung Lee of the Korean Cultural Service NY states, “the New York K-POP contest is to bring the rising popularity and trend of K-POP in South Asia, Europe, and other international countries back to New York,” and projects that “the contest’s focus on American fans to showcase K-POP skills will be an excellent medium to raise awareness about K-POP to Americans.”

Entry categories are for singing, dancing, and/or singing and dancing with no limitations in terms of each category’s genre (e.g. pop, ballad, rock, etc.). Any resident within the United States is eligible to apply, selected applicants will be responsible for their own transportation to the NY event.

Prospective applicants should upload their performance clip on Youtube and send the Youtube link to youngchoi@koreanculture.org with an application by July 21st, 2011. Please make sure your video is set as “Unlisted”.

SUlli's Dreams Come True


f(x) member Sulli has confessed that her dreams have come true, surprising many guests.

Sulli confessed on a Strong Heart MC-Special Episode to be aired on the 19th, “My dreams have come true several times, it’s surprising.”

“Once I asked my mom to buy a lottery ticket with the numbers I saw in my dream, and I ended up winning 100,000 Korean Won.” Sulli said. She also added, “If I see water in my dreams, something good happens.”

Sulli also said, “If I dream about something dangerous that will happen, I always am careful the next day, and I avoid accidents.”, surprising the guests around her.

Also on this day, along with Sulli, Ryu Siwon, Lee Jihoon, Park Sohyun, SBS announcer Kim Sowon, Kim Songjoo, Wang Jongun, Kim Ja-oo, Yoon Sohee, Ahn Sunyoung, and ZE:A’s Hwang Kwangee were also present.

U-CUBE to release "Fly So High"


4minute, BEAST and G.NA will release their label's first ever family song 'Fly So High'.

On July 20th and at 12:00AM, the song 'Fly So High' by U-CUBE, the CUBE artists' family name, will be released through online music portals.

U-CUBE's first digital single 'Fly So High' is an upbeat song. It puts emphasis on G.NA's and the 4minute & BEAST members' sincere message derived from their very own hearts and experiences.

The song will be the theme song of the first UNITED CUBE CONCERT to be held next month, on August 14th, in the Jamsil Gymnasium.

T-ara's Hyomin rushed to the hospital during "Gyebaek" shooting


On July 19th at 8:00 while filming for the MBC drama "Gyebaek", Hyomin had fainted and had to be transported to a Seoul university's emergency hospital department.

An official said, "Hyomin just finished filming her movie 'Gisaeng Spirit' and has been constant in promoting 'Roly-Poly'. On top of that, she has been busy shooting for a drama making her really tired."

The official continued, "We're currently in progress of looking at Hyomin's schedule for the rest of the day and seeing how she will be, but because of the situation she was unable to attend an interview for her movie."

"Gyebaek" begins on July 25th after "Miss Ripley" finishes airing. In the drama that takes place during the Baekje time period, Hyomin plays the role of Eungo and has began shooting recently.

Lee Seojin, Cho Jaehyun, Oh Yonsoo, Im Hyeonsik, Jeon Nomin, Yoon Dahun, Kim Yooseok, Jin Taehyeon, Park Yoohwan and others were cast in the drama.
