KARA featured on the cover of “Only Star”

KARA has been featured on the cover of Japan’s monthly Oricon magazine, “Only Star“, after winning a poll which predicted that they would be 2011’s number one breakout artist in Japan.

Japanese readers left comments like, “They’re so cute and sexy, they’ll be earning more popularity in the future,” “Beautiful idols skilled in singing,” and “KARA has charming new singers that I’ll be looking forward to in the new year.”

In the poll, SNSD took second, followed by SKE48 in third.

Through DSP Media, KARA commented, “We never expected so much love from our Japanese fans, we’re so very thankful. We’re all so excited in hearing that so many people are interested in us this year.”

KARA can be seen on the January 17th issue of ‘Only Star’.

KARA holds press conference for upcoming drama, “URAKARA”

KARA held their first press conference for their upcoming Japanese drama, “URAKARA,” at the Tokyo TV studio on January 10th. All of the members were said to have expressed their thoughts in fluent Japanese.

Leader Gyuri revealed, “The drama is about dating, and a variety of different genres are mixed in. Things such as robots appear as well, so fans can look forward to many different things.“ Seung Yeon added, “Please watch over us grow not only as singers, but through this drama as well.”

Nicole expressed, “It’s our first drama, so there is a sense of pressure, but we slowly got used to the filming and are now able to have a lot of fun with it.” Goo Hara continued, “Please look forward to the different dating missions all five of us will be accomplishing.”

Maknae Ji Young concluded, “Like the title ‘URAKARA’, the members will be showing new and different sides of themselves. Viewers will even be able to see the KARA members in love.”

The drama will consist of a total of 12 episodes and will begin airing on January 14th. The girls will also be singing the opening song, “Ima, Okuridai Arigatou.”

CJ Media has also bought the rights to air “URAKARA” on Korea’s tvN channel, which will begin broadcasting by the end of January. For the Korean broadcast, the drama has been titled, “KARA’s Double Life.”

PR for "URAKARA", Speaking In 2 Languages Was Fun

On the 7th, 5 member Korean girl group KARA were guests on TV Tokyo’s news variety program “MADE IN BSJAPAN” (BS-JAPAN). Leader Gyuri did PR for their drama “URAKARA” (TV Tokyo), which starts on the 14th, “Acting by using both Korean and Japanese was fun. It’s not something you can see every day; you can see a new “KARA” through this drama!”

“MADE IN BSJAPAN” is a variety program that has started with K-POP and does various entertainment news stories from throughout Asia. This day was titled “KARA kara Otoshidama Special!” [A New Year’s Gift From KARA Special!”]. The 5 members of “KARA” were guests and had various talk segments and games. The 5 girls showed the dance to their 2nd Japanese single “Jumping”, after that, they did some drama recording as well. The program only announced the girls would be on the show through twitter and their fanclub, but there were still around 300 fans standing outside the studio in the freezing cold to get a glimpse of the girls.

“KARA” debuted in Korea in March 2007. The 5 members are: the leader Gyuri, Seungyeon, Hara, Nicole and Jiyoung. In August of last year, they debuted in Japan with their single “Mister” and released “Jumping” in November. Both of those songs, as well as others, such as their best album and Blu-ray disc were in the top rankings for amount sold. This popular group is becoming a symbol in the K-POP boom.

Kang Ji Young working hard on her ABS!

A video of KARA's maknae JiYoung having ABS exercise in the gym has been revealed.She must have worked hard to keep her body in shape,still remember the chubby JiYoung we used to see,she is slimmer now and hope that she does not stress herself too much.

Eunjung Covers MISS A in “Dream High," Despite Her Leg Injury!

Eunjung of T-ARA plays Bakhee in Dream High on KBS2. She will be displaying her performance of "Bad Girl Good Girl” by Miss A on an upcoming episode of Dream High broadcasting on January 11th.

What a trooper, you know? She was last seen in a giant cast on her leg, yet her activities have not ceased. And in fact, she performs this dance with grace and power. Amazing.

JYP has a role in the drama and assisted in the choreography for Eunjung. According to the experienced producer, "For Eunjung's stage, the song, the dance, everything was done well and she presented the same feeling. It will be a great performance to show everyone."
