f(x)’s Krystal voted the most popular college freshman


f(x)‘s Krystal will be entering college this year, and netizens have predicted the idol star will be the most popular college freshman of the entering class of 2013.
DC Inside conducted a poll from February 5th-12th asking netizens, “Who do you think will be the most popular female star of the freshman class of ’13 at college orientation?”
After a total of 947 votes, Krystal came in 1st with 39.8% (377 votes). Krystal recently graduated from Hanlim Performing Arts High School and entered as a freshman at SungKyunKwan University. KARA‘sJiyoung came in 2nd with 30.5% (289 votes), and Olympic gymnast Son Yeon Jae came in 3rd with 12.7% (120 votes).
SISTAR‘s Dasom, Girl’s Day‘s Hyeri, and Dal Shabet‘s Subin also ranked high in the poll.

f(x)’s Krystal is chic and sophisticated for ‘VOGUE’


Who says maknaes always have to look cute?
f(x)‘s Krystal broke away from her carefree and youthful image as her team’s maknae and opted for a more mature and sophisticated look in the March issue of ‘Vogue‘ magazine.
Krystal looked stunning as she pulled off orange eyeshadow, and donned chic jackets in all white ensembles and bright colored pieces hinting at the warm season of spring approaching,
With her photos coming out so well, a rep on set praised Krystal, stating, “Throughout the entire photo shoot, Krystal proved herself to be better than a professional model. She led the shoot with her various poses and facial expressions and although it was a long process, she kept showing a bright smile.”

Baek Ji Young to make her Japanese debut in May


Singer Baek Ji Young is set to bring her trademark husky voice to Japan by making her Japanese debut this May!
Baek Ji Young’s camp confirmed, “Since the second half of last year, Baek Ji Young prepared step-by-step for her Japanese debut with Teichiku Records. Even during Baek Ji Young’s solo concert held atthe Jamsil Gymnasium on February 16th, the representatives of Teichiku Records came to watch the concert. They felt attracted by Baek Ji Young’s appealing voice and showed confidence that her voice will also give her an advantage in Japan. Starting with this album release, we plan to conduct a lot of activities in Japan.”
Baek Ji Young’s debut album will include her song “That Woman” from the ‘Secret Garden‘ OST which will be a familiar tune to Japanese fans who can now catch the hit drama on the NHK channel.
The singer will release her Japanese album on May 1st and celebrate her debut with fans at a live event held at the Akasaka Blitz Hall in Tokyo on the same day.

f(x)’s Sulli turns into a chic hipster for ‘OhBoy!’ magazine


f(x)‘s Sulli is turning 19 (20 in Korean age) this month and she’s showing fans that she has grown into a beautiful woman through the March issue of fashion magazine ‘OhBoy!‘.
Sulli is seen looking like a chic hipster while modeling the ‘Monsac‘ luxury handbags as she goes for a mix-and-match look with the unique and colorful patterns of each outfit. Even though she is getting older like the rest of us, her baby face is still apparent in each of these photos and left fans envious of her age defying beauty.

SHINee‘s maknae Taemin bumped into nothing but trouble on ‘SHINee’s Wonderful Day‘.
Taemin’s main goal in Switzerland was to attempt sky diving, and he had to go to the well known tourist city of Interlaken. He managed to get to Interlaken after a total of 24 hours and 30 minutes of flying and riding on a train, but he was further delayed at his sky diving attempt because of the bad weather.
He had to turn back to the capital Bern. But when he got on the train, he realized he’d lost his train ticket! The ticket was one that allowed him with unlimited use of the train for 4 days, but he dug through everything all of his possessions and couldn’t find it. He almost burst into tears, crying out, “What if I become an international missing child at this rate?
Hopefully, Taemin has better luck for the rest of his trip!

KARA to release new single in Japan



Girl group KARA will be releasing their 8th Japanese single ‘Bye Bye Happy Days’. After unveiling their album jacket photos, the group has now revealed more informations regarding the album.

‘Bye Bye Happy Days’ is a single with a cute melody and dance routine which will showcase KARA members’ lovely charms. The song aims to move hearts during graduation season in the country.

On March 2, KARA participated in ‘U-Express Live 2013’ and performed their upcoming single “Bye Bye Happy Days” for the first time, which wowed fans in the crowd.

A representative from DSP Media stated, “All of the members will be leaving to Japan on the week of the album release, and they will have about 2 weeks long promotion. Details were not decided yet.”

SHINee to appear on "Music City"

SHINee's schedule has been updated and seems the boys do not have enough time to rest as they are confirmed to be on Sung Si Kyung's MBC FM4U radio show "Music City" which will be on the 7th of March from 10:00PM to 12 midnight (KST).

SHINee is back and busy promoting 'Dream Girl' on various music shows.

Super Junior and Ailee to spend a sweet year together for ‘KyoChon Chicken’


One of the hottest solo acts in K-pop Ailee will be joining veteran idol group Super Junior as the 2013 endorsement models for KyoChon Chicken.
Super Junior, who will be modeling for the brand for their 5th consecutive year, will welcome new model Ailee with open arms for their upcoming CF. The concept for the CF will be a ‘thrilling scandal’, and its story line will portray Ailee as a fan who gets to spend a sweet year with Super Junior. KyoChon Chicken will also be unveiling a calendar featuring Ailee and Super Junior as a treat for fans.
A representative revealed, “Ailee, who became the new model this year, will add a refreshing change to Super Junior’s solid background for the brand.”

Davichi’s “Turtle” climbs real-time music charts


Davichi‘s ”Turtle” has made a quick climb to the top of real-time music charts!
Unlike its name would suggest, the pre-release from their upcoming album topped major music charts within 2 hours of its release. On the 4th, a day after it came out, “Turtle” ranked #1 on Bugs, Melon, Soribada, and other real-time charts.
Davichi shared, “We are thankful and touched by the unexpected love. Our goal was to make the talented composers of our songs proud. We want to make an album that people will remember.”

SHINee to hold fansigning at Land Cinema in Yongsan!



SHINee is busy having fansigning events everywhere.

Group SHINee who recently had their comeback with 'Miss Right' is busy with lots of fansigning events. The group to have their fifth "Dream Girl" fansigning which will be on March 7th, 8:30PM (KST) at  Land Cinema in Yongsan.

100 'Dream Girls' of SHINee will be lucky enough to get their albums signed by the handsome members of the group.

SHINee's Key,"I can become a dog for my girlfriend"



SHINee's Key revealed that he can become a dog got his girlfriend.

On February 4th, SHINee made an appearance on KBS Talkshow "Hello", the show is a place for people to go on and talk about their daily life distresses, and together with the MCs and the guests they will be able to find the methods to their own problems.

On the same day, a woman appeared on the show and shared about her story, she revealed her daughter's fondness for dogs, to the point that she didn't want to get married.

Before the MCs introduced about the woman's distress, they asked SHINee a question,"If your girlfriend wanted to bring the dog along on your date then what would you do?". Upon this question, Key asnwers,"It's ok to me because I like dogs too"

Key also said,"If she's really fond of dogs then I should try to become a dog. I have confidence that I can become a dog",his statement made everyone on the set burst in laughter.

2PM heats up Manila with ‘What Time Is It’ tour



The “beastly-idols” 2PM heated up Manila, Philippines for a one-night-only concert at the Mall of Asia Arena dubbed ‘2PM LIVE TOUR 2013 What Time Is It’ on March 2. A big number of crowd enjoyed the night away screaming and cheering at the top of their lungs as the boys showed their provocative dance moves.

2PM performed a total of 26 songs including solo stages by each member. Chansung launched a solo number, “Love You Down” and earned him deafening screams. Junho performed “Just A Feeling” while Nichkhun performed on the piano with “Let It Rain”. Taecyeon and Jun.Kamused everyone with “It’s Time” and “Just One Night” respectively.

One of the most memorable stages was Wooyoung’s stage of “Tong Tong Tong Tong Pakitong-Kitong”, a children’s song in Tagalog, which delighted the crowd and sang along.

At the end, the 2PM boys sincerely thanked their Filipino fans for the outpouring of love and support, and promised to come back to the Philippines.

TVXQ to make cameo in Japanese drama ‘Saki’



TVXQ will make their Japanese drama debut through a cameo appearance on the Fuji TV drama ‘Saki’.

On March 4th, local media outlet Sankei Sports reported that Yunho and Changmin will be making a surprise appearance in Japanese drama ‘Saki’ for which they sang the theme song “Catch Me”.

It is said that the director suggested them making a special cameo appearance when they visited a shooting. They appeared as guests eating cake in a cafe and impressed the staffs by adlibbing some lines in Japanese.

Meanwhile, TVXQ will be releasing their new album ‘TIME’ on March 6th, and they will be starting Japan 5 Dome Tour on April 27th.
