SHINee and KARA achieve Gold certification in Japan

Groups SHINee and KARA both impressed when they achieved the Gold Certification in Japan.

On November 12th, according to the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ), SHINee’s “Dazzling Girl” was certified Gold for exceptional sales. Produced by Jeff Miyahara, “Dazzling Girl” shipped more than 100,000 albums and placed second on the Oricon Weekly Chart.

KARA’s “Electric Boy” also did extremely well, selling over 100,000 albums and also achieving Gold status. Each of KARA’s singles in Japan have been huge hits, as “Electric Boy” proved that by selling 57,942 albums in the first week of sales, also placing second on the Oricon Weekly Chart.

TVXQ tops Gaon’s monthly album chart

TVXQ has ranked first place on Gaon Chart’s October Album Chart released November 9th. 

According to Gaon Chart, the group’s new album “Catch Me”, released in September, sold 114,956 copies in October, pushing the group into first place. In September, the album sold 131,882 copies, putting the total sales so far at 246,838 copies. 

However, Gaon Chart added that the album’s title song “Catch Me”, ranked 71st on the Digital Charts, in contrast with how well the album has been doing so far. 

Meanwhile, Psy’s latest 6th album including the megahit “Gangnam Style” sold 28,359 copies in October ranking 2nd. The album sold a cumulative 96,272 copies so far. 

In third place was Epik High’s 7th album “99” selling 27,161 copies, 4th place was G-Dragon’s “One of a Kind” selling 18,722 copies in October and 190,234 copies cumulatively, and in 5th place was Tara’s “Tara’s Free Time in Paris & Swiss” selling 17,242 copies in October.

It’s a powerful vocalist vs. a powerful dancer for this edition of WWIB!  On October 20′s ‘Patti Kim Show‘, soloist Ailee wore a black minidress with long sleeves and either studded or rhinestone trim.

f(X)‘s Victoria wore a very similar dress to the ‘Busan International Film Festival‘ on October 5, though hers dress appears to feature twice as many studs or rhinestones.

2PM reveals group poster for upcoming global tour

After revealing individual posters of the members, 2PM followed it up with the group’s poster for the upcoming concert tour.

On November 12, JYP Entertainment released the group poster for the ‘2PM Tour 2012-What Time is It?’. Similar to individual posters, the new cut showed all the members standing proudly in stylish black leather outfits and silver accessories, giving off their charismatic looks.

The tour will kickstart on November 17 at the Mercedes Benz Arena in Shanghai, China before heading to Indonesia, Taiwan and Macau, China. This will also mark Nichkhun’s first comeback to 2PM after being on hiatus due to his DUI incident.

SM Entertainment declines to comment on IU-Eunhyuk scandal

SM Entertainment has declined to comment on the recent scandal that erupted after IU posted a picture to her Twitter account, showing her in her pajamas with Super Junior‘s Eunhyuk. The picture was taken down minutes later.

“We don’t have anything particular to say,” the company said, in response to a call for a statement. Since the scandal erupted over IU’s mistake, and her company Loen Entertainment has already released a statement on the matter, SM Entertainment had decided to stay quiet on the subject, possibly wary of further repercussion.

Is staying fit as an idol taking a toll on TVXQ’s Changmin?

 

A top idol’s worry is gaining attention.

 

A recent post titled, “Top idol’s worry” was shared on an online community along with the picture above.

 

The picture was of someone’s extensive list of different foods. The list starts off with the words, “Seriously, seriously, really seriously…. a worry…” and lists foods including, hamburger, pizza, tteokbokki, ramen, spaghetti, and many more.

 

After writing down the foods, the author also wrote, “This isn’t all… it’s not everything… It’s a problem that the world has so many delicious things…”

 

The author of this list turned out to be TVXQ‘s Changmin. Changmin had also shared on one of the shows that he can eat two of the large sized pizzas by himself.

 

After seeing the post, the netizens commented, “I don’t think anyone can just be an idol“, “He can just eat it, what’s there to worry?“, and “Can’t even eat what you want, if it were me I would rather retire.”
