Songs by B2ST, Jay Park, 4minute, MBLAQ & more banned by Ministry of Gender Equality & Family

The Ministry of Gender Equality and Family is back with yet another list of songs they’ve banned for supposedly containing content that’s harmful to the youth.

Included this round is B2ST’s “Rainy Days“, which was banned for the use of ‘drugs’ in its lyrics. A line from the song states, “I think I’m drunk, I should stop drinking.”

The ministry explained that it alluded to drinking and that it could influence the youth in a negative way.Baek Ji Young’s “I Can’t Drink” was banned for the same reason.

Jay Park’s “Don’t Let Go“, After School’s “Funky Man“, and Heo Young Saeng’s “Out the Club” were all banned for sexually suggestive lyrics, while X-5’s “Fantasy” was banned for the use of slang and the mention of ‘offensive businesses’. 4minute’s “Heart to Heart” music video was banned for the same reason as X-5’s.

The ‘offensive businesses’ mentioned above is referring to none other than a club. Any song or music video that contains the word ‘club’ or a scene from a club will be hit with a ban.

DJ DOC’s “Joy and Pain” and MBLAQ’s “Again” were banned for the illustration of violence, whileKang Seung Yoon’s “You’re My Heaven” was banned for sexually suggestive content and the promotion of violence.

SECRET’s Song Ji Eun’s solo track, “Going Crazy“, had both the song and music video banned for encouraging crime.

As previously reported, songs that are banned cannot be sold to minors under the age of 19 and cannot be aired before 10 PM KST through radio or television.

They usually take a while to review material so recently released songs or videos does not come into the picture… yet. But most would already have heard or got their copies before the ban is effected.

MBLAQ’s Seungho and T-ara’s Soyeon show their support for HITT’s Hayong

As alumni of Ahnyang Arts High School, MBLAQ’s Seungho, T-ara’s Soyeon, and HITT’s Hayongdisplayed their camaraderie in a recent snapshot.

During the latest recording of KBS 2TV’s ‘Music Bank‘, the three idols held a long-awaited reunion backstage in the waiting room. They took a proof shot together and met each other not as students, but as colleagues. Because MBLAQ had their comeback stage that day, the three schoolmates were able to meet each other through the overlapping of their schedules.

It was revealed that the three idols have been good friends since their student days. After graduating, they were able to carry on their close friendship in between their busy individual schedules.

As seniors in the K-pop world, Seungho and Soyeon cheered on Hayong, who debuted through the new group HITT, and gave him messages of encouragement.

f(x)’s Krystal gives a circus-themed performance on ‘Kiss & Cry’

Earlier, we reported that Kim Yuna had praised f(x)’s Krystal for her stunning performance on ice. On the July 17th broadcast of SBS’s ‘Kim Yuna’s Kiss & Cry‘, Krystal and her partner Lee Dong Hoondemonstrated a circus-themed performance to The Eurythmics’ “Sweet Dreams“.

The theme of the show was ‘friends’, so Krystal and her partner decided to cast Krystal’s fellow f(x) members. Krystal’s performance was full of difficult lifts, beginning with the mid-air swing lift.

Following this difficult move was yet another, with the ‘Tetris lift’, in which Krystal moves into a handstand, holding onto her partner’s skates.

They continued with the ‘necklace lift’, where Krystal wraps her body around her partner’s neck. Krystal revealed, “It isn’t scary because I trust my partner.”

Judge Kim Yuna commented,

“The skating was very good, but I feel that it was lacking color.
The lifts were a show of their own, and the skills demonstrated were enough for me to believe if someone said [Krystal] was an ice dancer.”

With this, Krystal and her partner received their highest score thus far with 37.3 points.

Amber becomes Victoria’s date for ‘Nylon’

f(x)’s Victoria enjoyed a night time date, not with her ‘husband’ Nichkhun, but with her fellow f(x) member, Amber.

The two ladies are busy to the point where they can’t take time off for their own personal schedules, so they sought to have fun in their photoshoot for Nylon magazine’s August issue.

Inspired by the title of Sofia Coppola’s movie, ‘The Virgin Suicides‘, the concept for the photoshoot was to document a couple enjoying some late-night fun.

Amber, with her pretty boy image, was dressed in a men’s shirt and jacket, which presented the look of a mischievous young boy you’d meet on a London street. Meanwhile, Victoria executed the look of a sexy, yet cute girl with her short skirt and big wavy hair.

The editor of the photoshoot praised Amber by saying, “Even though we styled her in a men’s shirt, T-shirt, and jacket, she absorbed the look very well without any awkwardness.” The clothes that Amber wore were from a newly launched line by G by Guess, a menswear and unisex line.

f(x) finished their first album activities, and after their last broadcast, they went straight to Hongdae for their late-night photoshoot. Despite their exhaustion, they showed an enthusiastic energy.

The two members also impressed staff on set with their thoughtfulness for each other by ensuring that they both had a meal; they also joked around with the crew, which created a cheerful atmosphere.

Dana gets a birthday surprise visit from f(x)’s Sulli

CSJH’s Dana received a surprise birthday visit from f(x)’s Sulli, complete with a birthday cake and all.

On July 17th, Dana tweeted, ”The beautiful Sulli bought me a birthday cake! Thank you baby“, and shared a picture she took with Sulli and fellow member Sunday.

The girls are seen smiling brightly, and hilariously, they seem like a girl-group trio because of how they unknowingly color-coordinated their outfits.

Netizens responded to Dana’s tweet with comments like, “Happy Birthday“, “You guys have a sweet friendship“, “Good luck on your performance today“, “You three are so beautiful“, “Sulli is incredibly thoughtful“, and “Have a wonderful Birthday“.
