Dream High 2 to begin filming in December!


Dream High 2 to begin filming this December with a “fresh cast”

Producers of KBS‘s ‘Dream High 2‘ have revealed that filming for the new season will begin with fresh faces starting this December.

The first season, which debuted earlier this year, was a hit amongst fans with hot stars like Taecyeon, Wooyoung, Suzy, and Kim Soo Hyun. A lot of attention has been focused on the new cast, by co-producers Key East and JYP Entertainment have been keeping it under wraps, hinting that they’ll be fresh faces picked straight from their group of trainees.

On October 26th, a representative revealed, “There are a lot of talents amongst the trainees. We recently gave them several missions to carry out and have begun the audition process. We’re sure that the cast will be finalized by next month.”

In regards to the original cast making an appearance, they added, “The season is scheduled to begin airing in January so the schedule is up in the air. If anything, they’ll be making cameo appearances.”...

Bae Yong Joon and J.Y. Park, however, will be making an appearance for sure. “This drama won’t be focused on them, though. The plot will revolve around the new stars so we haven’t finalized their screen time or anything. Even so, they’ll be characters that will definitely make an impact on the plot.”

miss A & f(x) witness the Hallyu wave in Los Angeles

In a recent broadcast featuring miss A and f(x)‘s visit to Los Angeles, the ladies had firsthand experience with the international effects of the Hallyu wave.

On the October 27th broadcast of MBC‘s “2011 Cover Dance Festival K-Pop Roadshow 40120“, miss A and f(x) visit Los Angeles for the US segment of the show. miss A’s Suzy and Min and f(x)’s members Victoria and Amber served as judges for the US segment of the “2011 Cover Dance Festival K-Pop Roadshow 40120″. They also had a mission to find people in the audience to dance with them to perfect a global music video.

A total of 330 cover dance teams came in from all across the United States to participate. Some drove for two days straight, while others saved money to fly to LA for the event, showing the extent to which k-pop fever has influenced many Americans.

The “2011 Cover Dance Festival” was held at one of Los Angeles’ top tourist spots, Universal Studios. Prior to the start of the event, a famous American cheerleading team and a famous Youtube K-Pop cover dancer put on a performance for the crowd.

During the event, miss A’s Suzy was moved when she saw an girl in a wheelchair do her best to dance to a SNSD song besides her disabilities.

This broadcast of the “2011 Cover Dance Festival K-Pop Roadshow 40120″ will are on October 27th.

Gyuri’s ’200 Pound Beauty’ prepares to cross over to Korea

The musical ‘200 Pound Beauty‘ starring KARA‘s Gyuri will be making its way over to Korea after kicking off to a successful start in Japan.

From December 6th through February 5th, the musical will run at the Art Hall Theater in Chungmu, Seoul. Tickets will open for sale starting on October 27th while the musical prepares to conclude its run in Japan on November 6th.

The popularity of the original movie had already created a large fan following for the musical in Japan, and Japanese media outlets extensively covered the musical during its first run there. Considering the fact that it’s led by Hallyu stars Gyuri, Supernova‘s Sungje, and Bada, tickets for the musical sold out in an instant.

Gyuri stated, “We’re all so glad that our Japanese audience members are thoroughly enjoying our musical. I do know that there are still aspects we lack in, so we’re going to work hard to improve with every stage. Please look forward to our Korean shows as well.”

Shinsadong Tiger was embarrassed to release T-ara's "Bo Peep Bo Peep"


On the 25th at KBS2TV's "Win Win", Shinsadong Tiger appeared on the show together with Brave Brothers, After School, T-ara, Beast and 4minute.

T-ara's member Soyeon voiced out her thoughts about their song "Bo Peep Bo Peep" saying, "We knew the song would be a success (daebak). Firstly, won't unique songs capture people's attention?" At this point in time, the songwriter of "Bo Peep Bo Peep" interrupted to reveal his thoughts.

He said, "When the song was released, it was embarrassing. With the repeating lyrics, I hopefully thought it could still be able to do fine just with that nonsense.." Then Eunjung expressed that she didn't understand the meaning of the song and the part "Bo Peep" and Shinsadong Tiger just replied saying that he wrote the song while looking aimlessly at toilet paper packages.

He revealed he got his inspiration for "Roly-Poly" through looking at biscuits. And he added on saying, "For 4minute's 'Hot Issue', it came to be because Hyuna had many ongoing news topics about her, and when he saw the phrase (hot issue), I managed to compose the song," which made everyone in the studio laugh.

Hyomin interviewed by English BBC feels the Hallyu


T-ara's HyoMin interviewed by British news program "Fast Track".

The news program "Fast Track" came to the filming site of MBC drama "GyeBaek" to get information related to 'hallyu'.

HyoMin is playing the role of bright tomboy Cho young in the drama.

During the interview, Hyomin shared her impressions about Hallyu and the drama 'GyeBaek' as well.

After that, she said, "I realized the power of Hallyu. I will work hard to help in advancing the power of Hallyu more."

KARA to release 2nd Japanese album "Super Girl"

Kara's second Japanese album will be release on November 23.

The upcoming Japanese album is stirring attention because the first album "Girl's Talk" which was released December last year sold more than 100,000 copies and hit the Golden Disk mark.

Super Girl will consists some of songs from KARA's third Korean album like "Jet C

KARA is back to Korea after completing their promotions for "Winter Magic" from Japan. However member Park Gyuri stayed in Japan for her lead role in popular Korean musical "Pounds Beauty" that is being shown in Japan.

KARA to release second Japanese album, “Super Girl”

KARA has announced that they’ll be releasing their second official Japanese album next month!

Representatives of DSP Media confirmed, “On November 23rd, KARA will be releasing their second studio album in Japan.”

The album, titled “Super Girl“, will include their chart-topping “Jet Coaster Love” as well as “Winter Magic“. All in all, there will be a total of 10 tracks.

KARA’s first official album, “Girl’s Talk“, did fabulously on the Oricon chart, ranking in at second on the weekly chart and selling over 300,000 copies thus far. Its following releases, “Jet Coaster Love”, “Go Go Summer“, and “Winter Magic” have all sold 100,000 copies in their first week, making this next album all that more exciting.

BBC interviews T-ara’s Hyomin on the set of ‘Gyebaek’

On October 23rd, the BBC visited T-ara‘s Hyomin on the set of her MBC drama ‘Gyebaek‘ to hold an interview for their ‘Fast Track’ program.

‘Fast Track’ is a program that focuses on overseas travel, and producers thought to touch on the growing Hallyu wave. Hyomin was interviewed on her feelings on Hallyu as well as information regarding her historical drama.

After her interview, Hyomin stated, “Through their visit, I was able to feel the power of Hallyu once more. I will work my hardest so that the wind of Hallyu continues to blow.”

On her Twitter, she also wrote, “Interviewed with BBC~ I wanted to do well, but I was really nervous. I barely made it through, using my armor as a support.”

In related news, T-ara is currently busily preparing for their November comeback.
