K-Pop World Festival 2012 to feature TVXQ, MBLAQ, FT Island and more



This year’s K-Pop World Festival is set to open this weekend and the artist list who are set to perform at the annual event has been revealed.

The K-Pop World Festival 2012 will be opening at the Changwon Plaza in South Kyungsang Province’s Changwon in October 28th. The full line-up list for the festival which is being provided by KBS features big names including TVXQ, FT Island, Secret, MBLAQ, A Pink and B.A.P.

The large-scale festival will be led MCs Secret’s Han Sunhwa and rookie soloist Ailee.

Amber sends a cute message to Krystal on her birthday


f(x)‘s Amber sent fellow member Krystal, who recently celebrated her 18th birthday (Korean age: 19), a special birthday message that has fans talking.
Amber tweeted on the 24th:
The photo shows Krystal’s face attached to the body of a shepherdess holding an adorable “Amber llama”. The caption on the photo is a combination of Krystal and Amber’s name, “Kryber”, has left fans smiling.
Fans commented, “Did Amber make this herself?”, “[Amber] has a lot of sense”, and “Happy Krystal day”.

2PM’s “Masquerade” to be used as opening theme for Nihon TV’s ‘Happy Music’


2PM‘s fifth Japanese single ‘Masquerade‘ will be used as the opening theme song for Nihon TV‘s ‘Happy Music‘ in November.
Pre-sales for ‘Masquerade’ began on the 15th and showed explosive popularity by sweeping #1-3 on Tower Record‘s chart. They maintained the top three spots for eight consecutive days from October 15 to the 23rd, which proved 2PM’s great popularity in Japan. There is high anticipation for their single because more albums were urgently created due to the massive amount of orders. The group has also ranked first on Japan’s largest mobile ringtone chart.
Famous Japanese music composers NA.ZU.NA and M.I, who have worked with popular Japanese singers like ArashiKoda Kumi, and SMAP, have collaborated to produce “Masquerade”. ”Masquerade” is a dance track about the heartbreaking story of a person who is caught in forbidden love. 2PM’s vocals along with the sad melody, bring out the emotions in the song. In the album jacket photo, the members of 2PM have been drawing attention for their masculine charm and anticipation is high for live performances of their ‘mask dance’ choreography for this track.
The massive popularity of their new single ‘Masquerade’ is what led to the decision to make it the opening theme song for ‘Happy Music’.
On another note, 2PM will be holding an Asian Tour at the end of the year, and at the beginning of next year they will hold  an Arena Tour in Japan.

TVXQ’s ‘Hello’ episode ranks #1 in viewer ratings


The episode of ‘Hello‘ featuring TVXQ exploded upward in viewer ratings to reach the #1 spot.
The show reached 10.0% in viewer ratings, 2.9% up from last week and ranked on top in its time slot. In the episode, Yunho had given advice to a 31-year old dancer, and the two TVXQ members listened attentively to the problems of the guests offering advice when they could.
Healing Camp‘, the usual first place in the time slot, dropped down to far second with 6.1%, and ‘Come to Play‘ kept its usual last place with 5.3%.

Leeteuk tweets his wishes for a happy week with just seven days to go before his enlistment


Super Junior leader Leeteuk shared his feelings as his enlistment date quickly approaches.
Leeteuk tweeted on October 23rd, “D-7.  I will try to make this the happiest week of my life.
Leeteuk will film his final episode of SBS‘s ‘Strong Heart‘ on the 25th and conclude all of his broadcast commitments. On the 30th, he will report to Gyeonggi-do Uijeong-boo to join the 306 unit for his enlistment.  Leeteuk will take part in basic training for 5 weeks and then serve the remaining 21 months as an active duty soldier.
Netizens who saw Leeteuk’s comment wrote, “You are really going to leave in one week“, “Who will fill the void that is made once he leaves“, “I hope you truly make the happiest week of your life“, and “Please keep us updated on how you are doing while you are in the army.”

On October 23rd, F.T. Island’s Hongki tweeted a photo of 11 members from the various groups along with the words, “Where do you think I am?“. The photo showed MBLAQ’s G.O and Seungho, 2PM’sJunhoChansungJun.KTaecyeon, and Wooyoung, along with F.T. Island’s Hongki, Jaejin,Jonghoon, and Minhwan.
The idol members seem to be at a banquet hall of some kind, and are dressed casually. Most of them are shooting bright smiles and peace signs at the camera and are huddled tightly close together, showing off their friendship. Fans who saw the photo said, “I want to be there too“, “Who took the photo?“, and “Why did you guys meet up?

TVXQ members discuss their looks and ideal types on ‘Shindong’s Shimshimtapa’


On the October 23rd broadcast of the MBC FM radio show, ‘Shindong’s Shimshimtapa‘, TVXQfeatured as guests and revealed their ideal types.
Yunho revealed his ideal type as he stated, “Rather than short and petite women, I like tall and slender women.” Changmin then went on to share, “I like a girl who knows how to show some skin during the summer. I find that I like women who refreshingly show some skin.”
The duo also revealed their previous cooking experience for their past girlfriends. Yunho revealed, “I made boiled chicken soup for my girlfriend.” Changmin stated, “I once made cream cheese pasta and meat porridge.”
Yunho and Changmin also discussed their looks and both initially seemed to agree on who was the better looking of the two. Changmin commented, “Honestly, if charms isn’t a factor and you just look at the face, I am better looking than Yunho hyung.” To this, MC Shindong remarked, “Do you really think so?” Changmin replied, “Although Yunho hyung is overflowing with charms, if I just look at our faces, I am more handsome.” Yunho agreed, “In terms of facial features, Changmin is more handsome”. However, when the lie detector was brought in, his statement came out to be a lie, making everyone on set laugh.

Preview for T-ara's "Sexy Love" Japanese version revealed



T-ara will be releasing a new Japanese single “Sexy Love” on November 14th. Giving a sneak peek for the fans, a Japanese news show has revealed a short preview for the single’s music video.

“Sexy Love” was released in Korea on September 3rd with their album ‘Mirage’. The song is the work of Shinsadong Tiger and written by Choi Kyujong, the same team who made T-ara’s “Bo Peep Bo Peep” and “Roly Poly” and “Lovey Dovey”.

Super Junior and PSY to perform on 2012 MAMA



Mnet revealed that Psy and Super Junior will be performing at the upcoming 2012 Mnet Asian Music Awards, which will be held in Hong Kong on November 30.

Psy and Super Junior were both highly evaluated for their amazing achievements they made all over the world. A representative stated, “When we stated our intentions to hold MAMA overseas again, many Asian countries including Hong Kong inquired about Super Junior and Psy’s appearance.”

He added, “They’re expected to give upgraded performances for the audience at the 2012 MAMA, so please look forward to them. More world-renowned singers will perform at the awards as well. We’ll announce their names one by one.”

Super Junior topped the charts with their 6th album early this year, and also became the hottest K-POP group, growing largely popular in Asia, North America, South America and Australia.

Psy on the other hand, is currently popular in such countries as the U.S., the UK, Australia, and the Netherlands with his viral hit song, “Gangnam Style.”
