Davichi member Kang Min Kyung’s Gillette razor CF elicits mixed responses

 

Davichi‘s Kang Min Kyung recently filmed a new CF for Gillette razors, which was posted on an online community on January 20th under the title, “Kang Min Kyung’s razor CF that makes you feel weird“.

 

The video was filmed with the concept of “a shave that calls for a kiss“, and is taken from the perspective of a man who appears to be facing Kang Min Kyung. She says into the camera, “You look neater? It looks good” while smiling, and then the man’s hand rests on her shoulder as the camera closes in for a “kiss,” closing up on the singer’s lips with a kissing sound effect.

 

Another video titled ”Close your eyes when putting on headphones or earphones” surfaced online, featuring Kang Min Kyung’s voice-over during a scene in which she shaves the man’s face. Netizens commented on how the sounds of her breathing bothered them because they sounded sensual.

 

Some of the comments included, “I thought this was an adult video. This is embarrassing“, “This is a video for shaving?“, “This is too obvious. What kind of promotional video is this lewd?“, and “As soon as I saw it, I was surprised. What is this“, while other netizens commented, “It’s nice and sexy, I don’t see any problem“, and “I wish I had a girlfriend like that who would shave my face for me.”

What is KARA‘s secret to their popularity?

 

For a group to last long, it is never good for one member to hog all the spotlight. If one member is noticeably more popular than the others, then it creates friction within the group and ends up having a negative effect to its longevity. Sadly, this is often the case in K-Pop groups – one or two members end up with all the popularity, whether they mean to or not.

 

However, that’s not the case for KARA. Even though the girls had a scandalized break-up scare and Hara seems like she may be the only one popular, the girls share more or less the same size fanbase.

Seungyeon and Hara were active in variety shows, and command the bigger fanbases. However, all of the member-specific merchandise at their Tokyo Dome concert were sold out completely. When Seungyeon teared up expressing her gratitude of her fans filling out the entire Dome, the fans cheered loudly. The fans cheered equally as loudly for Hara and Nicole when they danced, when Gyuri sang, and when Jiyoung had her stage.

 

The fact that the members all had more or less equal popularity only means that they have a stronger possibility of lasting a long time.

CNBLUE member Jonghyun’s sweet attention to f(x)’s Sulli raises eyebrows

 On last night’s episode of popular variety program ‘Running Man‘, the show held its ‘2013 Running Winter Olympics‘ featuring a slew of idol guests including f(x)‘s Sulli, and CNBLUE‘s Jonghyun.

 

During one of the games, the cast wore extremely heavy equipment causing even the most fit players to tire more quickly.  Sulli became exhausted and politely asked if she could sit down to rest. However, that was easier said than done.

 

The ice hocky equipment made it almost impossible for her to sit unaided. SHINee‘s Minho tries to help her her, but the uniform is so heavy she ends up flat on her back. Then, Jonghyun offers not only to help her up, but in a sweet moment lets her use his back for support.

 

Of course this is Running Man’, so no good deed goes unpunished and the other cast members proceed to instigate things pondering if the small interaction was evidence of some sparks between the two.  MC Yoo Jae Suk jokingly asks if they were filming a drama, causing laughter among the cast, but poor Jonghyun to blush shyly.

 

Was Jonghyun just being helpful or do you think he may have more than a little fondness for Sulli?

SJM thanks fans for a successful fanmeeting through group selca

Super Junior M recently concluded their fanmeeting in Nanjing last night. Kyuhyun shared a group photo right after the show was ended. He wrote,

"Our Nanjing fanparty has ended now!! Thank you our beloved China E.L.F!! It’s been hard work on you^^ you’re now watching SJM", quickly after his message, Donghae also posted, "My dear babies !! The fan meeting has ended now ^^ Everyone worked hard !! I love you all !! Gimme a call, I am waiting for u all ^^ Hae, Kyu, Siwon, Zhoumi, Hyuk!! So colorful and good looking^^.
