Mnet to live-stream ‘M! Countdown’ on August 25th

allkpop has just been informed by Mnet that their popular K-Pop chart show, ‘M! Countdown‘, will be streamed live for one night only on August 25th this week!

The show has just gone through another organization shift, and the change takes effect this Thursday, with overseas K-Pop fans now being able to participate in their rating system.

‘M! Countdown’ had advertised from last week that they were recruiting M! Countdown Global Crews, comprised of fans mostly from Europe, South America, North America, and Asia. Over 500 people can now directly participate in ranking K-Pop stars in the show. Voting will begin from August 26th for them and their results will be reflected on the September 1st episode.

This is extremely exciting news for many K-Pop fans, as ‘M! Countdown’ appears to be seeing the impact and popularity of K-Pop around the world, and are responding to the high demands for more overseas interaction. The show is also planning to invite some international K-Pop fans to watch the real show in Korea once in a while.

f(x), SISTAR and ZE:A’s Dongjun and Kwanghee head for Hong Kong

Girl groups f(x) and SISTAR as well as ZE:A’s Dongjun and Kwanghee were sighted at Incheon International Airport on August 23rd as they departed for Hong Kong for a K-pop concert.

Besides the two girl groups, KARA and miss A also performed at the “K-POP Girls in Love LIVE in HK 2011” at the AsiaWorld-Arena this evening. Meanwhile, 2AM, CNLBUE, F.T. Island and ZE:A will perform at the “K-POP Boys in Power LIVE in HK 2011” which will be held on the 24th at the same venue. Both concerts were hosted by Dongjun and Kwanghee.

f(x)'s Luna to Make Her Drama Debut

f(x)'s Luna will be making her drama debut alongside SS501's Kim KyuJong.

During the second half of the year, Luna and KyuJong will be preparing for a drama entitled "Saving Mrs. Go BongShil" which will be aired on Chosun TV (CSTV). Senior actors and actresses who will be acting alongside the two include Kim HaeSook, Chun HooJin, Dok Go YoungJae, and Hong SukCheon.

The scriptwriter of "Saving Mrs. Go BongShil" is Park EunRyung, who wrote "The Woman Living Across the Street", "A Second Proposal", and "Thank You, My Life". The director of this drama is Yoon SangHo, who was in charge of "The Legend", "The Dance in the Sky", "Tamra, the Island", and "Birdie Buddy".

Luna and Kim KyuJong have shown their acting and singing skills through musicals, but this will be their first drama project so people are raising their expectations.

The drama "Saving Mrs. Go BongShil" will start its recording sessions in mid-September.

On August 23rd, HyunA tweeted, “In the middle of concert practice. It’s not pretty, but it’s to commemorate the finding of my Twitter password.”

KARA to make a comeback in September with third album, “STEP”

Girl group KARA will be making their comeback in Korea soon with a new album, slated to released on September 6th.

DSP Media stated on August 22nd, “KARA will be active in Korea with the release of their 3rd full-length album next month… It’s been 10 months since the release of their 4th mini-album, ‘JUMPING‘.”

Their comeback track is said to be a rock/electronica-themed song called “STEP,” and was reportedly written by producer duo SweetTune.

The album’s limited edition will be in stores later this week on the 25th. 100 fans who buy the limited edition of the album will be chosen to attend a special showcase by KARA on September 14th.

On the 23rd, T-ara appeared on KBS’s live show, Morning Yard. Idol groups do not usually appear as morning show guests, but T-ara visited the program.

On the show, T-ara performed their song ‘Roly-Poly’ and received lots of cheers.
