f(x) celebrates Music Bank win with a group photo

The girls of f(x), who recently made a comeback with the addictive title track “Electric Shock”, have taken over the Music Bank’s ‘K-Chart’ this week.

To celebrate their first Music Bank win, f(x)’s Victoria posted on her me2day, “A picture with the members to celebrate our first place win on Music Bank at Hong Kong before boarding the plane~ To our beloved fans~ Really really thank you~ Without you we won’t be able to get no. 1~ I will try harder to show you a better image in the future~ I love you ^^♥”

f(x) is heading to Hong Kong to participate in the ‘Music Bank in Hong Kong 2012’ which will be held at the AsiaWorld-Arena in Hong Kong on June 23rd. Other confirmed artists include, TVXQ, Wonder Girls, BEAST, CNBLUE, MBLAQ, INFINITE and IU.

SBS ‘Running Man’ producers pick their top seven episodes to date

SBS‘ flagship variety program ‘Running Man‘ is on the verge of its 100th episode, an admirable milestone for any television program.

In celebration of the upcoming 100th broadcast, internet media site Star In contacted the producers of the show, who picked out their favorite top seven ‘Running Man’ episodes to date.

• Superpower Special (Episode 74)

Star In calls the Superpower Special the “most important” episode, and the producers themselves have counted this episode among one of their favorites. The cast members become possessors of otherworldly powers, and use them for their dastardly goals. “There was perfect synergy between the production and the skills of the characters,” praised producer Cho Hyo Jin.

• Park Ji Sung Special (Episodes 95-97)

If only for the fact that Park Ji Sung appears in them, this series of episodes is worthy of note. The viewers were able to see a side of the soccer player that they’ve never seen before. “The program’s special qualities, along with Park Ji Sung’s variety skills, simply exploded,” said scriptwriter Park Hyun Sook.

• Thailand Race (Episode 50-51)

The very first episode abroad for ‘Running Man’, this episode showed the show’s immense popularity overseas to the cast and staff firsthand. “We were worried about shooting in the middle of the city,”revealed producer Kim Joo Hyung. “There was a big feeling of achievement.”

• Yoomes Bond Part I, Part II (Episodes 38, 91)

A special created for and by Yoo Jae Suk. The main MC turns into a spy, secretly tracking down the other members and eliminating them. Producer Im Hyung Taek had nothing but praise, saying, “He is a man who will create tenfold the amount [he's given].”

• First Love (Episode 87)

Notable for being a fusion of a traditional variety show and drama. Han Ga In shined as the invited guest, bringing some of the nostalgia from her drama, ‘The Moon that Embraces the Sun‘. “This was significant because it signified a coming-together of drama and variety,” said producer Cho Hyo Jin.

• Girls’ Generation Couple Race (Episode 63)

Featuring Girls’ Generation, this episode weaved in and out of crowded areas, proving that ‘Running Man’ could operate safely in public. “We got confidence in the idea that ‘Running Man’ could naturally blend into public settings,” reflected producer Kim Joo Hyung.

• Couple Race (Episode 55-56)

The ‘Running Man’ cast members, not to mention the viewers, were thrown a curveball when four beautiful girl group members were replaced by female comedians the morning after. “The idea that flower tea transformed pretty girls into scary noonas led to a dramatic turnaround,” said producer Im Hyung Taek.

2PM to particpate in the ‘Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Race’

It has been announced that 2PM and KBS‘ ‘Let’s Go Dream Team!’ will be participating in the ’2012 Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Race’!

The members of 2PM as well as KBS’ ‘Let’s Go Dream Team!’ will be representing Korea to attend Hong Kong’s boat festival scheduled to take place in the Tsim Sha Tsui area of Hong Kong July 2nd. In the evening, 2PM along with a few other Korean and Hong Kong artists will be putting on an exciting performance at the San Miguel Beer Garden to chase away the summer heat. Because the performance is one part of the entire festival, it will be put on free of charge.

The boat festival is an annual celebration that started back in 2000. It commemorates the memory of China’s national hero, Qu Yuan, a poet who drowned himself in the Miluo River to protest against the corruption of the government officials of his time. The modern day boat festival has now become a traditional sport and event of Hong Kong, and deemed a holiday that can be enjoyed by all.

Participants of the boat race are divided into teams of 20-22. With their teams, they must complete a dynamic 10-meter course while driving a dragon-shaped boat. The difficulty of the task is said to be something that cannot be described in words, but is an exciting and fun sport to play and to watch.

This year’s theme for the event is titled ‘2012 Hong Kong, Asia World Tour‘, and it will provide the guests and tourists an opportunity to directly experience the colorful culture of Hong Kong and its festivals. Hong Kong offers a wide variety of enjoyable festivals throughout the year, including the Lunar New Year’s festival in January, the Hong Kong International Film Festival in March, and the food festival as well as Buddha’s birthday celebratory event in May. Tourists can also experience the mega shopping season of Hong Kong in August, the city’s exotic Halloween festival in October, the abundant feasts provided in the food and wine festivals of November, and the New Year’s countdown celebration in December. With this year-long schedule planned out in advance, tourists are able to experience the fusion of both eastern and western culture that Hong Kong is known to harbor.

f(x) surpasses 600,000 online download for their new song Electric Shock!

f(x) are in it for a shock as they have surpassed 600,000 online downloads on the first week since the release of their new title song "Electric shock". On the 21st of June, the charts for online downloads was released and f(x) topped it with their song "Electric shock" with over 630,510 downloads.

Wonder girls came in second managing to get half of f(x)'s online downloads with their song "Like This" getting 334,866 downloads. f(x)'s "Beautiful Stranger" also comes in at strong number 3 in the charts with 290,038 downloads. Big Bang ranks down this week with their new song "Monster" having 286,386 downloads. 

Victoria charms with her big eyes and black studded ribbon

f(x)'s Victoria shows some cute aegyo for her fans. On the 21st of June, Victoria updater her me2day account and shared, "Thank you for supporting f(x) electric shock, We will give you a good show for m!Countdown" and shared a cute and edgy selca.

On her selca you can see her complete with hair and make up giving a cute expression with her eyes wide open also giving a darker aura with her black studded ribbon and black highlights on her blonde hair. Netizens commented, "Wow, cute and sexy", "The ribbon is pretty unusual but she's still cute", "her eyes are so big and round, its captivating".

Super Junior releases Donghae's teaser for "Sexy, Free & Single"

After revealing the first teaser photo featuring Eunhyuk, Super Junior has unveiled the second teaser photo for their upcoming 6th album “Sexy, Free & Single” featuring Donghae.

In the photo, Donghae is seen in a see-through black top with a white lace veil in on his head, showing a soft and mysterious feel.

Super Junior will make their comeback with sixth full-length album titled “Sexy, Free & Single.” The new album will be released on July 1st through music sites like MelOn, Genie and Naver Music.

Q. Please give your greetings to the Bugs family.

A. Hello, Bugs family! It's been a long time since we have greeted you. This is f(x).

Q. Your last comeback was last year. Please tell us about your activities during that time.

A. After "Pinocchio" and "Hot Summer" last year, the each of the members have worked hard on their respective individual activities. We had a lot of new and precious experiences. During our spare time, we did our preparations for our new mini-album while we wait for the day where we could meet everyone again.

Q. Your mini-album [Electric Shock] has been getting warm receptions. What are your comments on this?

A. Our feelings of wanting to meet the fans was bigger than ever. We received a lot of love from last year's "Pinocchio" and "Hot Summer", so honestly, we were a bit burdened for this comeback. As soon as the news was released, we received a lot of love already and we only thought about conveying our gratefulness with our hard work.

Q. An introduction on this mini-album's concept?

A. You can feel all of f(x)'s uniqueness and individuality that has been showcased since the beginning in this mini-album. Doesn't everything--the sound, lyrics, performances--feel very "f(x)-ish"?

Q. A bear was on the jacket images, what was this trying to present?

A. This is trying to convey a fairy tale which is definitely very f(x) and unique. When you think about it, the music's electronic sound has a striking and trendy feeling. With the different atmospheres between the jacket images and the sound, we're trying to show the numerous different sides only f(x) could showcase.

Q. Please introduce your title track.

A. This is an electronic pop dance song who expresses the exciting, electric shock feelings of falling in love. Although falling in love is a confusing feeling, the giddy feelings is resembles someone being electrocuted and experiencing and exciting shock. The analogy used, "Electric Shock", is represented in the four letters beginning each of the lines in the tetrastich/quatrain, presenting a new colour to the lyrics.

Q. Anything about the music video?

A. You've watched the music video, right? Your feelings~ Similar to the song title, "Electric Shock", an electric shock appears in the midst of [the music video], it's like receiving an exciting electric shock (^^). We hope that this would be able to cool you down as the summer comes. That's the point!

Q. We're curious about your promotional plans.

A. Bugs family! It's been a year since our comeback, thank you for all your love. We will show you a more hardworking side of us through our brisk promotional activities. "Electric Shock". From now on, please look forward to our splendid performances onstage. This has been f(x). Thank you!

T-Ara Showcase in Malaysia 2012

T – Ara will be coming to have their 1^st showcase in Malaysia. It will be held at Dewan Wawasan, Menara PGRM, Kuala Lumpur on 3^rd October 2012 (Wednesday), at 8.30p.m.

f(x)'s "Electric Shock" records 600,000 downloads within a week

There seems to be no stopping for the ladies of f(x), as they achieved another feat for their new title track “Electric Shock”!

According to the Gaon Chart on June 21st, f(x) took the number one spot for the most downloaded song during the 4th week of June, recording 630,510 downloads within just a week. Other songs “Jet” and “Beautiful Stranger” from f(x)’s album also received considerable attention by ranking 13th and 16th.

Following behind with a huge gap was Wonder Girls and their latest track “Like This” with 334,866 downloads, two times less than f(x)’s record.

Hyungdon and Daejun’s “The Gloomy Song” took the third spot with 290,038 downloads, Big Bang’s “Monster” at 4th with 286,386 downloads and K.will’s “We Never Go Alone” wrapped up the top 5 with 244,814 downloads.
