T-ara’s “Lovey Dovey” overthrows ‘Infinity Challenge’ songs on real-time charts
According to recent reports, girl group T-ara has overthrown Infinity Challenge on several music ranking charts!
On January 14th, T-ara’s “Lovey Dovey” secured first place on MelOn, Mnet, and olleh, thus toppling Infinity Challenge’s long reign over the top spots. T-ara released “Lovey Dovey” on the 3rd and instantly grabbed first place on several music charts, but were forced to cede to ‘Infinity Challenge’ on the 7th when it came out with songs from their ‘I Am a Singer in My Own Way‘ special.
Thanks to another week of hardcore promotions on stage, however, the girls managed to regain those spots.
Jung Jun Ha‘s “Tall Old Bachelor“, which took first place on several ranking charts on the 8th, is now in second place on most charts.

KARA earned $63 Million in Japan in 2011
Korean girl groups’ monetary profits earned in Japan during the past year have been revealed.
According to the results posted by Oricon that reported gross sales album numbers for 2011 (Dec 27th 2010 through December 19th 2011), girl group KARA earned over $63 million, while Girls’ Generationraked in earnings of over $52 million. Of all the artists to promote in Japan overall, KARA came in 4th overall in revenue, while Girls’ Generation came in at fifth place.
Famous J-pop group AKB48 who triumphed the K-pop girl groups earned a whopping $211 million, while boy group Arashi came in at #2 earning $199 million, followed by EXILE who earned $72 million.
A year before, KARA & Girls’ Generation came in at #1 & #2 who earned the most in Japan as rookies with $16 million and $11 million respectively. In just a single year, both groups’ profits have grown by 500%. The numbers reported by the Oricon exclude the profits made from miscellaneous promotions such as performances, CFs, royalties, and more.

A surprise birthday party was given to KARA member Goo Hara by the staff. On the 13th of January Goo Hara turned 21 and on her birthday, she was still busy with work, but despite her working on her birthday, the staff prepared a surprise birthday party for her.
Hara shared on twitter on the 13th, "It's friday the 13th, Its my birthday and Im at work and the staff gave me a birthday cake! I was so surprised when we were on break and they suddenly had a surprise birthday party! Im so happy!" sharing a photo of her with the birthday cake.
Hara also thanked the members of KARA and all the people who celebrated her birthday with her. Hara shared a very sweet smile on the picture and despite being covered in cake, she still looked beautiful.
