TVXQ earned over $12.5 million in Japanese DVD sales for 2012


TVXQ has reportedly earned over 1 billion yen (approximately $12.6 million USD) in Japanese DVD sales for 2012.
ORICON BiZ online‘ reported the third quarter results for the Japanese music market and the report revealed that the only artists that earned more than 1 billion yen in terms of DVD sales were TVXQ and Japanese girl group AKB48.
TVXQ’s released their DVD ‘TVXQ LIVE TOUR 2012-TONE‘ back in July and it contained footage from their Japanese concerts held in 11 cities. The DVD had ranked #1 on the Oricon Daily Charts and the Weekly DVD Charts.
According to ‘ORICON BiZ online’, TVXQ’s total media sales enjoyed an increase of 11% compared to last year. Their single album sales had decreased by 1%, but their album sales had increased 7.7% and video media sales such as DVDs and Blu-Ray have increased by 36.2%.
