The production company of SBS‘ weekend drama ‘Five Fingers‘ has broken their silence on the controversy surrounding Ham Eunjung‘s exit from the series.
Production company Yein E&M released a press release on August 28th that read, “This was not an unilateral decision 에 의한 the 직원, and the PPL 문제 was not 이유 her exit. We 희망 Eunjung's agency중단됩니다 forcing 자신의 assertions, and 하면 they 계속, we will 선택의 여지가 없다 but to respond with 적절한 법적 조치 .”
They continued, “The reason why we 응답조차하지 않았고 when 기사 made inaccurate presumptions which Eunjung's agency was asserting, was because 우리가 thought remaining 침묵 and not arguing would be the 마지막 considerable act 우리가 could 에게 제공하는 Eunjung .”
They explained the situation behind Eunjung’s exit saying, “We were 기다리고 the agency to resolve the T-ara 문제 and even concluded 우리의 difficult press conference, however, the external noise 것 같지 않았어요 to die 다운 and therefore we 개최 an emergency meeting with the production 회사와 staff members .”
They also talked about the PPL issue that was pinpointed by T-ara‘s agency and the media as the reason why Eunjung was thrown out of the drama. “Though the production 회사가 had already seen a 손실을 of 1,000,000,000 KRW (~$880,000 USD), because the broadcast has 이 이미 began, it was not 상황 where throwing Eunjung out would have restored 하거나 resolved 아무 것도 .”
In regards to the assertions that said they issued an official document which consisted of conditions that were worse than the original contract, they said, “It is not 사실 we 보낸 official documents 어떤 종류의. The 'agreement' that Eunjung's agency is 무슨 말을, is just a proposal first 에 의한 Eunjung's agency,  her exit was becoming a controversy. They proposed that they would lower the conditions and be responsible for compensation. Throwing [Eunjung] out of the drama is not a 결정 the 직원 can on their own .”
Yein E&M also needed to explain the claims that said they did not properly deliver the decision to replace Eunjung to her agency. “SBS and the production 회사는 officially delivered the message. Being considerate 으로 Eunjung, we proposed she voluntarily 단계를 down from the drama, but the agency 강제로 their assertions in the media and to various associations. Because we had no 신뢰를 for the agency, we 선택의 여지가 없었습니다 but 개최 an emergency meeting with the 직원 및 production company, and we 결정 that it would be 에 가장 적합한 Eunjung to be removed .”
The company assured that this was the best decision by adding, “The reason why we 않은 not remove her in the 처음 was 하기 때문에 we thought the bullying controversy was just a rumor, and that 시간은would resolve 모든. We trusted that the agency would 조치를 취할 to 시도하고 resolve this, however, the controversy 죽지 않았다는 down 후에도 the broadcast 이 시작, and we 하기로 결정 remove [Eunjung] for the sake of 다른 actors, actresses, and 스탭 .”
We hope that Eunjung will be able to overcome her pain and stand on her own two feet again,” they said in conclusion. “We truly hope she will be able brightly stand before the viewers one day soon.”
In related news, T-ara’s Ham Eunjung was cast for the role of pianist Hong Dami in ‘Five Fingers’, but was removed from the drama a day before filming began.
