‘Beautiful’ has been revealed to have topped the weekly singles chart for Japan’s Tower Records in addition to placing second on Oricon‘s weekly singles chart as reported earlier. Not only that, but their arena tour DVD also placed first on Tower Record’s weekly DVD chart.
The single itself has actually earned widespread popularity even before its release since it was used as an endorsement CF song. Just a week into its release, the single managed to sell a whopping 140,000 copies, sweeping the weekly sales charts in Tower Records and the Oricon.
On June 8th, a photo-zone event with new pictures of their album jacket covers was held, attracting a big crowd despite the boys not even making a personal appearance. 2PM’s clothing exhibition in ‘Tsutaya’ and the Tower Records store in Shibuya was also visited by hundreds of fans.
JYP Entertainment expressed, “2PM recently sold out six days of their concert tour amounting to 84,000 fans and have been enjoying widespread success with their new single. They’ve already doubled their last single’s sales and are continuing to secure their position as a K-Pop leader in Japan. They will always be working hard so please give them your support.”
