“Eighteen’s Choice – 2012 Adulthood Award Ceremony” finally broadcasted tonight (May 6th). The ceremony not only gathered well-known celebrities such as Yang Lan, Giddens Ko etc, but also invited Korea’s popular idol group, 2PM to join as well. This is 2PM’s debut on China’s variety show television; they have attracted many fans from the whole country to admire their idol’s performance. Wherever they went, there were screams constantly. The ceremony was recorded on May 2nd; security measures at the set were very strict. When 2PM went to rest backstage, it caused a large crowd of passionate fans to surround them.
Ever since Hunan Satellite TV’s director announced Korea’s popular idol group, 2PM will participate in the recording of the ceremony, it had already attracted many fans attention. This is 2PM’s first time participating in a variety program recording in China. 2PM had gathered much attention even before their debut, and after debut their popularity was overflowing. Everywhere they went it caused fans to scream loudly, especially member Nichkhun whose popularity in China is highest because of the couple “Khuntoria” in a Korean TV program.
2PM performed for the ceremony, two songs; <Again & Again> and <Hands Up>. Throughout the performance, the audience on set screamed non-stop, from beginning to the end. When 2PM headed backstage to rest, it caused a group of fans to crowd around. At this moment, the backstage security and fans were pushing against each other, causing one fan to injure her arm. The enthusiasm from the fans caused 2PM to be very surprised. After the injury incident, 2PM expressed during the interview session: “Thank you for everyone’s enthusiasm, we apologize to the fans. We remind everyone to pay attention to their own safety, stay in order.” 2PM’s management company indicated, 2PM is expected to expand in Mainland China in the future, fulfilling Chinese fan’s demands.
