2PM's Hands Up Asia Tour brings in 60 billion KRW

2PM recently wrapped up their successful "Hands Up Asia Tour".

According to CJ E&M, 2PM’s Asia tour concert started in September 2011, and went out with a bang with its final Hong Kong concert held on March 11, 2012.

The beastly idols continued to sell out all of its concerts, selling out 10,000 seats in Taiwan, 7,000 in Jarkata, 8,000 in Singapore, 9,000 in Bangkok, and 9,000 in Hong Kong, taking over Asia with their charms.

An official from CJ E&M's global concert brand M-Live, who coordinated the concert remarked, "Although the K-POP and Hallyu market is based in Asia, there are not many artists who can sell out 10 performances in 8 countries back to back in a period of six months."

"The economic effects of the Asia tour are estimated to be about 60 billion won. We have to take into consideration the profits from the group’s albums and ticket sales, sponsor marketing, artist promotion, other costs not related to music and the effect the group had on stabilizing the Korean wave of K-Pop", he continued.

Representative from Indonesia concert stated, "There was already a K-POP craze in the area, but after 2PM’s concert, there has been a higher interest in all things related to K-POP, and sales for albums and magazines are more favorable."

A local representative from Nichkhun’s homeland, Thailand, also said, "2PM boasts great popularity as a guaranteed success in Thailand. 2PM is leading the K-Pop boom."

JYP Entertainment stated, "We’re thankful that we were able to bear these great results thanks to the fans’ support. We are glad that we have done our small part to help K-POP artists advance into other parts of Asia. Thank you to all the international fans who have waited for 2PM during their Asia Tour, and we will repay you with international activities."
