Kpop group TVXQ and KARA continue to shake Japan as they have been named nominees for the grand prize of the 53rd Japan Record Awards.
The Japan Record Awards, hosted by the Japan Composers Association, announced that TVXQ's "Why? (Keep Your Head Down)" and Kara's "Go Go Summer" were chosen as two of the 10 nominees for the most covetedExcellence Award.
For the Excellence Award, the two groups are up against several Japanese top artists including JUJU, AAA, Funky Monkey Babys and AKB48.
Meanwhile, 2NE1 who also reached out to the Japan public with an official debut this year, will compete for the best newcomer award against SUPER☆GiRLS, Ito Miyu and Fairies.

KARA achieved four gold record accreditation with their albums "Winter Magic", "Girl's Talk", "KARA BEST 2007-2010" and DVD "KARA BEST CLIPS". The group will be releasing their second studio album "Super Girl" on November 23rd.
2NE1 became a rising hallyu star in Japan with their successful debut this year, alongside with their sold-out NOLZA concerts.
