T-ARA to hold live showcase in Tokyo before Japanese debut

7-membered Korean girl group T-ARA will be holding a live event in Japan for the very first time on July 5th. Rumors of T-ARA debuting in Japan have been floating around for a while, and the showcase announcement confirms that the girls are finally gearing up for their Japanese debut.

T-ara has signed an exclusive contract worth 350 million yen with J-ROCK for their Japanese debut. Under this arrangement to groom them as all-round entertainers, EMI Music Japan will be their record label while they will be managed and marketed by Smile Company, under Johnny’s Entertainment.

Since debuting in 2009, the group has recorded several hits, including the collaboration single “TTL (Time To Love)“, which was recorded with their labelmates Choshinsei. It placed #1 on 8 different music sites, and was covered by Nami Tamaki a few months back. T-ARA also received the Newcomers Award at the 24th Golden Disk Awards, the Korean equivalent of the Grammys.

The event will take place at Tokyo’s SHIBUYA-AX, where 1,500 fans will be invited to attend for free. To enter the draw for a ticket, visit the group’s official website starting June 8th at 10 AM (JST).
