KARA is NO.1 For Next Big Hit


Weekly entertainment magazine “Ori★Star”’s OMR (Oricon Monitor Research) took a survey of 500 people (250 males, 250 females) to find the “Next Big Hit Ranking 2011”. KARA came in 1st and SNSD came in 2nd, the Korean girl groups are monopolizing the top spots. They took over the Japan music scene during the 2nd half of last year. In Oricon’s yearly total sales, they were the #1 and #2 newcomers. These 2 groups are building a firm position in Japan and in this survey they also are at the top.

3rd place went to AKB48’s sister group located in Nagoya, SKE48. 4th went to the techno rock unit Sakanaction. 5th went to flumpool, who does the theme song for the movie “Kimi ni Todoke”and who has appeared 2 years in a row on Kouhaku. 6th goes to the actress-singer Kuroki Meisa (22).
