KARA’s Gyuri addresses “loner” rumors on ‘Radio Star’

KARA‘s Park Gyuri recently addressed the rumors about her being a “loner” in her group.

On the latest broadcast of MBC’s ‘Radio Star‘, KARA was questioned about their time in Japan, romance, and the issues they had with their agency, DSP Media.

When the hosts asked Gyuri about the loner rumors, she responded, “I feel bad about the word ‘loner’. Those who know me already know this, but I’m the kind of person who would turn my back against the world before the world turns their back against me.”

Fellow group member Han Seungyeon also commented on the rumors of snobbery. She stated, “I’m the one with the personal rice cooker. All the members are on a diet so they don’t eat much, and if I cook enough food for everyone, I feel it’s a waste so I have my own rice cooker. People make it seem like I don’t want to eat with the other members.”

KARA is asked why they’re more popular than SNSD & 2NE1 in Japan on ‘Radio Star’

On the October 19th broadcast of MBC‘s ‘Radio Star‘, the MCs treaded some daring waters by askingKARA what they thought was the reasons behind their success in Japan.

The MCs bluntly asked, “We heard that KARA is more popular than both SNSD and 2NE1 in Japan, why do you think that is?”

Leader Gyuri carefully replied, “There’s probably a variety of reasons. SNSD and a lot of other girl groups are also receiving a lot of love in Japan, but they say that our popularity is higher. We’re actually not sure of the reasons ourselves.”

Goo Hara attributed their popularity to their proficiency of the Japanese language stating, “We don’t have an interpreter with us when we go on variety shows.” The MCs asked back, “Kind of like Ida Daussy in the past then, right?” Another remarked, “So you’re basically a group with five Ida Daussys.”

Note: Ida Daussy is a French woman who moved to Korea in the early 90′s after marrying a Korean and she became a TV celebrity because of her Korean language skills.

After much laughter, the girls continued, “We also adjust to new locations / adapt to new environments really fast. We could probably survive no matter where you place us.”

T-ara, "SNSD and Wonder Girls competition? Choosing which group to support is fun"

Popular girl groups Wonder Girls and Girls' Generation are coming back at the same time, and T-ara has vowed to compete in good faith.

On the 19th, T-ara were shooting scenes for their two-part music video "Cry Cry" and "lovey-dovey". During the shooting, they sat down for an interview.

They said, "Unlike some rumors, the fact is that we are close to Girls' Generation and Wonder Girls sunbaes. With our three groups coming back at the same time and us all having three different colors, it'll be fun to watch and see which group fans will support."

T-ara member Eunjung said, "There isn't any sort of group showdown to us. We want to prove that T-ara is the best group at fitting in for our various concepts. Rather than a competition, we are trying to focus on being able to show our talents amongst them."

Hyomin said, "Because they'll also be on stage during us, we're a little worried about it, but it just makes us work harder. On the other hand, rather than competing with them on stage, we have the advantage (?) of being allowed with a bigger audience."

Despite having hard circumstances, Hyomin who is currently appearing in the drama "Gyebaek" and having overlapping activities in Japan with T-ara, preparing for a new album and shooting a new music video, said with a brave appearance, "I try to make schedule adjustments so that I can show up and complete and show what I need to."

Meanwhile, T-ara's 30-minute music video mini-drama featuring a story of fidelity will be released in the second half of November.

During the show, Super Junior's Kyuhyun asked, "Is it true that you’re part of a notorious clique in school? If there’s nothing like that, then these rumors wouldn’t come out."

In response, Jiyoung explained, "Those stories came about when there’s no evidence. There aren’t any pictures to validate that. To be honest, I did hang out with those type of kids. However, I’ve never bullied my classmates for money or anything."
