On December 12th, Kang Jiyoung uploaded a hilarious photo of her attempting to eat a freshly opened hamburger and tweeted, “Finally….”
Jiyoung must have been extremely hungry in order to be so delighted over a hamburger. You can clearly see her eye smiles as she opens her mouth wide to devour the poor little thing.
Netizens giggled at the idol’s appearance and commented, “Haha! So did you end up eating it?“, “Looks so delicious!” and “haha you look so happy =D“.
On December 11th, T-ara member Hyomin shared a photo via her official Twitter page and wrote, “Downed a drink. Feel full and satisfied this morning~“.
The photo is of the drink Hyomin had finished, and the drink is also one endorsed by girl group SNSD. Hyomin evoked laughs by making sure that SNSD member Sunny‘s face on the bottle was captured in the photo. Sunny and Hyomin are known to have built a close relationship on KBS2‘s ‘Invincible Youth‘.
Netizens who saw the photo left their comments saying, “I want to see the both of you on the show again“, “You must really like Sunny“, and more.
Meanwhile, T-ara is currently promoting their new hit song “Cry Cry“, and SNSD is preparing for their comeback with follow-up track, “Mr. Taxi“.
Past photos of IU and KARA member Goo Hara auditioning for JYP Entertainment were recently revealed on the December 11th episode of SBS TV ‘Inkigayo‘.
KARA member Nicole who is serving as an MC on the show remarked, “These days ‘K-POP Star‘ is highly popular. IU, what was it like for you when you auditioned to become a star? We didn’t think you could remember so we decided to refresh your memory by revealing your past photo from the audition,” and revealed a photo of IU who auditioned with JYP Entertainment in the past.
In the photo, IU looks much younger but she did not look much different from the way she does now. IU remarked that she was embarrassed, and Nicole continued to reveal a photo of her fellow group member Goo Hara who also auditioned with JYP Entertainment.
Like IU, Goo Hara looked younger than she does now, but still radiated a natural beauty like she does today.
Meanwhile, performing on the episode of Inkigayo were Wink, X-5, Lady Jane, M.I.B, M Signal,Electroboyz, A-Pink, Bang&Zelo, LED Apple, Boyfriend, Noel, Tim, YB, Dynamic Duo, Trouble Maker, TRAX, Seo In Young, T-ara, IU, and Wonder Girls.
It has just been revealed that KARA‘s Seungyeon, Nicole, and Jiyoung will be participating as special guests in KBS‘s ‘Immortal Song 2‘!
On December 12th, the three members joined the ‘Immortal Song 2‘ panel at the KBS hall to record for the show’s upcoming Christmas special. Since the show’s first broadcast six months ago, this will be the first time a girl group is featured. Unfortunately, Hara and Gyuri will not be participating due to scheduling conflicts with their other activities.
The show has a history of solo contestants with the exception of special guests joining them on stage, so this will be the first time a team is competing on the show. Producers have asked contestants to pick a seasonal song from the ’80s through the ’90s.
Producers stated, “The special will allow viewers to feel the festivity in the air, so please look forward to it.”
Expectations for the Christmas special are high. Netizens have flocked to the program’s message board in hopes of landing a ticket to join the audience.
The Christmas special will air on December 24th, or Christmas Eve.
As K-Pop continues to make its mark around the world, Japan remains the ‘hot spot’ for Hallyu. On December 11th, it was revealed that KARA, Super Junior, The Boss, and Rainbow had all entered the Oricon chart.
KARA’s “Super Girl” was certified Platinum by exceeding 400,000 copies in sales. Their 2nd studio album was released on November 23rd and achieved 275,206 copies in its first week, the best for any Korean girl group in Japan. They also topped the daily, weekly, and monthly Oricon charts, continuing KARA’s success after their first album, “Girl’s Talk“, hit the 400,000 milestone.
To date, they’ve sold 2,160,000 copies in Japan alone since their debut last year.
Meanwhile, Super Junior topped the Oricon for the first time since their debut, as “Mr. Simple“, their second Japanese single, recorded to first place on the daily single chart.
The single sold 35,854 copies upon its release, coming out at second on the chart before finally making its way to the top this week. Previously, Super Junior had “Bonamana“, their first Japanese single, place second on the Oricon daily chart and weekly chart in June.
Other honorable mentions include The Boss’ “Love Days“, which placed eighth, and Rainbow’s “Mach“, which placed ninth.
