[NEWS] KARA's BEST Album Adds A Bonus

5 member Korean girl group KARA released their best album “KARA BEST 2007-2010” on September 29th. It has been announced on their official site on October 1st that it will include a bonus. The bonus is that the girls will give a photograph to the applicants to show their gratitude. Also, among those applicants 10 will be chosen via lottery to attend a meet & greet session on October 15th. Application details can be found on the website [here].

The best album starts off with their debut song “Mister”. The album spans from their debut in 2007 until now and features 12 of their Korean hit songs. It comes in a limited edition and a regular edition. The limited edition version includes a DVD which shows their arrival in Japan event as well as off shot photos from their stay.

Moreover, on the 9/28 daily album ranking the girls sold 18,000 copies in the first day and entered the charts at rank #2.

[NEWS] Rain, Kara and AKB48 join line-up of Asia Song Festival

The second line-up of performers have been announced for the upcoming 2010 Asia Song Festival (ASF), to be held in Korea later on this month.

According to a press release by PR agency Prain, Korean superstar Rain, four-member boy band 2AM, girl group Kara and international stars including Japanese group AKB48 and Taiwanese singer Film will take the stage at the Olympic Park in Seoul for the event on October 23.

The first line-up of artists, revealed in late-August, included Korean songstress BoA, Chinese singer Jane Zhang, Taiwanese singer and actor Joe Cheng and Malaysian singer-songwriter Michael Wong.

Top Hong Kong star Jackie Chan, the honorary chairman, and Lee Min-ho, the Goodwill Ambassador for Korea's UNICEF, will be promoting the event which brings top artists from around the Asian countries to Korea each year.

Proceeds from the festival, hosted in collaboration with UNICEF to celebrate Korea's hosting of the G20 summit in November, will be donated to children in Pakistan.

[NEWS] Kara's album receives most downloads on iTunes Japan

Korean female idols Kara have grabbed another title in Japan with their best album becoming the most downloaded record on iTunes Japan.

On Friday, the girls' agency DSP Media announced that "Kara BEST 2007-2010" was the No. 1 downloaded album on iTunes Store Pop.

It was the second best-selling album on the prestigious Oricon daily albums chart on September 29.

The special album features their hit songs such as "Pretty Girl", "Honey", "Lupin" and "Mister", the last song also being the group's Japanese debut single, starting from when they debuted in 2007.

Kara has led a successful music career in Japan since May this year, becoming the first Asian female group to place in the top 10 on the weekly singles chart with their album "Mister" and their DVD "Kara VACATION" reaching the highest rank for an Asian DVD.

They are currently preparing for their appearance on Asashi TV's popular live music show "Music Station" on October 15.

The quintet will release their second Japanese single next month.

T-ara's new member Ryu Hwayoung, talks about her whereabouts.

T-ara's Ryu Hwayoung and fellow member Jiyeon joined Co.ed in their joint studio on the 29th for a party.

Hwayoung and her twin sister, Hyoyoung, both belong to Core Contents Media and on the 30th, Hyoyoung will be making her debut with "Too Late". For this special day, Jiyeon and Hwayoung joined together with Co.ed to celebrate.

Hwayoung told Star News, "Because my sister is going to debut first, I'm very happy. It came very hard for my sister, along with the Co.ed members and I'm happy it's leading to good results," she said.

"T-ara is doing well and was very welcoming. I share a room in our dorm with Eunjung and Soyeon. Me and Jiyeon get along well since we are the same age," she said laughing.

Meanwhile, T-ara will return with Hwayoung as seven members coming in November.
