How much profit did SM Entertainment and YG Entertainment earn in 2012?

SM Entertainment and YG Entertainment revealed their Fiscal Year 2012 Earning Results.
The two companies released their total sales, revenue, and net profit for 2012. These results are tentative as an independent auditor needs to audit the earnings report for the stock holders, however, no big changes from the initial results are expected.
SM Entertainment, maintains their claim as the biggest label in the entertainment industry. They reported revenue of 168,560,155,987 KRW (approximately $154 million USD), which is a 53.5% increase from 2011. Deducting the wages of the workers and production costs from the revenue brings in 47,821,232,494 KRW (approximately $44 million USD), which is a 133.2% increase from 2011. The net profit (after calculating all expenses) has also increased 125.4% since 2011 to reach 37,177,156,185 KRW (approximately $34 million USD).
YG Entertainment had a total revenue of 99,724,863,668 KRW (approximately $91 million USD), a 59.4% increase from last year. Deducting the wages of workers and production costs brings in 18,544,672,845 KRW (approximately $17 million USD), a 20.3% increase from 2011. The net profit increased 45.4% from 2011 to reach 17,113,443,533 KRW (approximately $15.6 million USD).
JYP Entertainment has yet to release their results for 2012.

TVXQ releases full PV for “In Our Time”


TVXQ has released the full PV for its upcoming track “In Our Time”.

“In Our Time” is a mid-tempo ballad that showcases Yunho and Changmin’s complimenting voices. It is the February theme song for a Japanese program and will be a part of the duo’s upcoming new Japanese album ‘TIME’ which will be released on March 6th.

The ‘TIME’ album will be available in three differen versions; whereas Versions A and B will both come with an additional DVD, while Version C is a CD-only release.

SHINee’s Key reveals Girls’ Generation Sunny’s love for alcohol


SHINee revealed what activities the members usually do at midnight.

On March 1st, SHINee appeared as guests on MBC Radio FM4U’s ‘Blue Night’s Jung Yeop’ where the members were asked what they usually do at midnight. Jonghyun revealed that he usually exercise while Onew enjoys eating at midnight. 

Key answered, “I meet up with my friends and go drinking.” He added, “After our musical, I went to have dinner with Girls’ Generation’s Sunny. She’s very good at mixing soju and beer. Sunny is a huge alcohol lover.”

Meanwhile, SHINee held a special event of granting the listeners and fans’ wishes during the show.

SHINee holds guerilla concert at Gangnam club


To celebrate the success of their latest comeback, SHINee held a guerilla concert at the Octagon club in Gangnam, Seoul on March 2nd at 1AM KST.

The group started off by performing “Lucifer”, then went on to sing new disco remixes of “Dream Girl” and “Beautiful”, which were especially rearranged for the event. Clubbers were enthusiastic and sung after SHINee and shouted out their name.

Furthermore, Shim Jae Won appeared as a special DJ during SHINee’s show.

Meanwhile, SHINee made a successful return with their third official album and its title song “Dream Girl” is scoring no.1 in online music charts and MBC Music ‘Show Champion’ and Mnet ‘M! Countdown’.

How much has SHINee changed since their debut days?

Well, the boys certainly seem to think so. The group went on a recent recording of KBS 2TV‘s ‘Hello‘, where the MCs asked them, “How are you different now from when you debuted?“. The boys answered honestly, “Before, we used to greet people energetically, saying loudly, ‘Hello~!’. But now, we greet people easily, in a much more relaxed manner.
MC Lee Young Ja added, “Even now, you’re sitting like a high-class officer,” and the SHINee members nodded in agreement. With the success they’ve been reeling in song after song, the boys deserve to be at ease, don’t you think?
