KARA is selected as a model for Japanese drink

KARA is also effective in advertising world in Japan.

KARA will be a model for ‘Drinking Hongcho’ in Japan from August. In July, after KARA made a contract, sales have increased 10 times for last month.

The company, Chungjungwon’s official said, “Unlike Japanese Idol Groups’ girlish image, KARA is know for their hip dance, so they can deliver the key words, ‘skin’ and ‘keeping in shape’, for Hongcho. We are targeting Japanese women in their early 20s and 30s and they will reach consensus on KARA.

The company also said, besides the TV commercial, they will have a variety promotions for Hongcho, including an event with KARA’s concert and signing event.

Through KARA, Chungjungwon is anticipating to increase the sales and raise their brand awareness in Japan.

Meanwhile, KARA will make their comeback in Korea this fall.

T-ara to release a new "Copacabana" inspired version of "Roly Poly"

Girl group T-ara will release a new version of "Roly-Poly".

At 5:00 PM on August 2nd, T-ara will reveal a new song called, "Roly-Poly In Copacabana". The song was named after "Copacabana" popularized in the 80's in Jongno disco clubs.

"Roly-Poly" is currently very popular and doing well on charts. Taking the original song, they made a more stylish and trendy Euro-dance version of the song as well.

T-ara added a new feeling to their music making it into a vacation-song. Their agency said, "It will have the fun disco craze rhythms added."

In addition, T-ara are releasing a follow-up song on the 16th which is a remake of Nami's "Round and Round". T-ara plan to dominate the music industry this summer.

T-ara are still promoting but also are preparing for their full scale debut in Japan.

T-ara's Jiyeon has a male model doppelganger

Recently, a model from the men's clothing store called No Hongchul has been gaining attention for his resemblance to T-ara's Jiyeon.

Baek Hyojun is not a famous celebrity, but recently became a model and right when he did, he attracted attention for his similar looks to T-ara's Jiyeon.

He is 180cm with pale white skin, stylish and with a good fashion sense. He meets the conditions of being a "pretty boy," but he can also pass as Jiyeon's older official.

An official for the store said, "The model Baek Hyojun has a clean and pure image, as well as a diverse and unique style that matches the store."

He's currently a model, but also an aspiring artist. Baek Hyojun said, "There is a lot of times when I'm called as Jiyeon's older brother Baek Hyojun, but it made me upset. But now, I think of it as luck (?). In my future as a model but also in a variety of different activities such as being a singer, I will try to grow."

T-ara's Jiyeon "Because me and Hwayoung aren't 19, we couldn't see 'Gisaeng Spirit' yet"

"Because we're too young, we couldn't watch 'Gisaeng Spirit' and had to return to our dorm..."

The summer film "Gisaeng Spirit" with Han Eunjung and T-ara's Hyomin was decided as inappropriate for youth.

T-ara members Jiyeon and Hwayoung both turned 18 this year. Because the movie is rated 19+, they're unable to see it. Recently, Hyomin and Han Eunjung hosted a VIP premiere party for "Gisaeng Spirit" and even Jiyeon and Hwayoung were seen there with the other members of T-ara, but unlike their members, they returned back to their dorm while the others watched the movie.

T-ara's Jiyeon said in a recent interview, "Me and Hwayoung couldn't see the movie because of the age limit restriction, so we had to go back to our dorm. We are both still only high school students. (?)"

Jiyeon continued, "Just us two went back alone in the car. When my unnies came back to the dorm they said things like, 'It was so interesting and scary.' Because I couldn't see the movie, I was disappointed but I'm also curious about it now," she said.

Meanwhile, "Gisaeng Spirit" is about the spirit of a child that possesses another person's body and commits gruesome murders. Lee Hyungseok, Han Eunjung, and Hyomin play the lead roles.

The publisher for the movie said, "The emotional development with the charters, intense and dramatic visuals and chilling effects make it a hot movie for the summer."

"Gisaeng Spirit" opens on August 4th.

Krystal of f(x) blanked out after the performance "I was so dizzy.."

Krystal of f(x) couldn’t stand up after her performance in SBS’s Kiss and Cry due to dizziness.

In the episode aired on the 31st, Krystal performed the Pirates of the Carribbean with her partner Dong Hoon.

Krystal couldn’t get to the Kiss and Cry zone, so only partner Dong Hoon went to the zone.

Dong Hoon said, “I think she lost all her energy because I made a mistake in a jump, I’m terribly sorry.”

Krystal explained, “I wasn’t in a condition that day, so I didn’t eat anything. After the performance, I couldn’t stand up because I was so dizzy.” in an interview with the production crew.

Krystal added, “I’ll eat up, and work hard for better performances.”
