Who got to debut in group ‘K’?

KBS 2TV’s “Dream High” will finally debut their much-awaited idol group on this week’s episode!

Week by week, the drama has been climbing in viewer ratings thanks to their growing fanbase. This week’s episode will be focusing on the drama’s second pivotal plot point – the debut showcase of group ‘K,’ which is comprised of members ‘Jin Guk,’ ‘Baek Hee,’ ‘Jason,’ ‘Lia,’ ‘Sohyun,’ and ‘Taesan.’

‘K’ makes an impressive debut with their title track, ‘with K‘, which virtually dominated every major music chart. Indeed, the group became so popular that the individual members have each garnered a formidable fanbase as well.

Ever since the spoiler’s release, viewers have been especially curious over how ‘Jin Guk’ managed to debut, since he’s just a student in ‘entrance class.’ Much attention is also being put on his other ‘entrance class’ friends, and what will be happening to them since they did not make the cut to debut.

Victoria transforms into a beautiful magician’s assistant

f(x)’s Victoria embarked on a stunning transformation as an assistant for popular magician, Choi Hyun Woo.

The two teamed up for SBS’s Lunar New Year special, ‘Star Couple Challenge Cup‘ to deliver an astounding magic show. Choi Hyun Woo performed a trick that seemed to teleport Victoria from one location to another. Panelists who’ve never seen the magician’s act before were floored, as they blurted out ”Is this even possible?” and “This doesn’t even make sense.”

The duo then moved onto their next trick, in which the sun illustrated in a children’s storybook that Victoria was reading from gradually disappeared, causing the audience to rub their eyes in amazement.

Nichkhun cooks spaghetti for Victoria on “We Got Married”

On the ‘Khuntoria’ segment of January 29th’s “We Got Married,2PM’s Nichkhun earned the nickname of ‘Chef Khun’ by preparing a spaghetti dish for his wife, f(x)’s Victoria.

Having created the tomato sauce from scratch, he revealed his satisfaction with the outcome in his black room interview. “Even I think it came out a bit nice. Although Victoria was full, she ate it all up right to the end.” Nichkhun completed his role as the caring husband by doing the dishes afterwards as well.

Fans of the couple were also able to notice just how much more comfortable and closer they got after their trip to Thailand. The two aren’t as hesitant in initiating skinship anymore and express their affections for one another more often.

Later in the episode, Victoria visited the set of 2PM’s comeback stage with handmade lunch boxes, and Nichkhun greeted her with a surprised, but overjoyed smile.

In his black room interview, Nichkhun expressed how much her visit had impacted him by saying, “I hadn’t seen her in such a long while, I wanted to give her a hug.”

When asked why, he replied, “Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to because there were other people around us.”

Kang Jiyoung’s dad wants to resolve KARA issue with “a forgiving heart”

The father of KARA’s Kang Jiyoung revealed that he would like for the contract dispute with DSP Media to be resolved positively.

On January 29th, Kang Gun Wook posted on his Twitter, “I haven’t been able to sleep for several days because of anxiety and sadness.” Wishing for a positive resolution, he wrote, “I want to resolve this before the week passes. I will try to put my guard down and approach the situation in the hopes of solving it with a forgiving heart.”

The day before, Kang Gun Wook tweeted, “We reached the halfway point of success. KARA will continue activities and events as 5 members” and “In a few days, the rest of the agreement will come to a conclusion. It will be a direction that everyone will be mutually satisfied with”. Many are taking the tweets as a good sign that both sides are conducting business smoothly.

It was reported on the 27th that through consultation, the 3 members of KARA (Han Seungyeon, Jung Nicole, Kang Jiyoung) agreed with DSP Media that ‘KARA will continue together as 5′ and that the Japanese drama, ‘URAKARA‘, and CF schedules will resume. As for the remaining issues with the agency, they plan to meet again soon to confer.

KARA’s Gyuri transforms from a ‘goddess’ into ‘the monkey king’

On January 29th, KARA’s Gyuri guested on KBS 2TV’s “100 Points out of 100” and amused viewers with her exaggerated transformation.

Haha and Gyuri were invited as ‘new entrance’ students and took part in games that tested one’s patience. Some of the challenges included math, holding in your laughter, and stacking cans. Haha and Gyuri were pitted against each other and had to draw teams; the losing team was forced to make an ugly transformation as the consequence.

Unfortunately, Gyuri’s team (Kim Juri, Lee Seok Hoon, miss A’s Min, and Rainbow’s Jaekyung) lost their challenge, and they were taken away to hair and make-up.

When they came back out, viewers were bowled over by everyone’s 360° transformations, but it was Gyuri’s in particular who brought in the laughs.

‘Goddess Gyuri’ re-emerged from the make-up room with a unibrow and an old-school beard. The look was complete with an inverted widow’s peak and messy hair, which led many to comment that she looked like ‘the monkey king’.

The winning castmates teased them by shouting, “You’re all so ugly!” Gyuri’s team replied that they hadn’t seen their transformations yet, and expressed immediate surprise after checking their reflections in the cameras.

“Heroes” PD assures fans that Nicole is not leaving the show

We previously reported about how KARA’s Nicole would not be at the film set of SBS’s “Heroes” on January 31st. After hearing the news, fan began to worry about whether or not Nicole would actually continue with the show.

On the 30th, PD Park Sung Hoon assured fans through an interiew with Money Today that, “As everyone knows, Nicole was involved in many issues and was unable to film with us on the 31st. This, however, does not mean that Nicole will leave the program.”

Fans were relieved to hear that Nicole will eventually return to the program, pending the resolution of the dispute with DSP Media.

After the second round of negotiations, KARA decided to continue together as a five-membered group. They’re hoping to continue with their schedules as planned.

SHINee’s Onew tackles f(x)’s Luna

On January 23rd, many idol groups came together for the recording of MBC’s Lunar New Year’s special, “Idol Star Athletics Championship“.

During the event, fans caught a hilarious – but almost dangerous – incident between SHINee’s Onewand f(x)’s Luna. In the video, Luna and SHINee’s Minho are celebrating after Luna succeeds in clearing the high jump. As they’re jumping for joy, Onew comes running in to congratulate her and decides that he’s going to run right through the pole.

He ends up tripping over the mat and dives straight into Luna, who reprimands him playfully with a pat. Luckily, no one got hurt and it seems like they both got a good laugh out of the situation.
